T-Day Cruisers 2011, November 19-26th, 2011

I would have thought the teenage / adult boys would have a great time at Orient Beach....brings to mind the time certain posters on a Thanksgiving week thread were spotted clothing optional in the Magic's hot tubs...

(true story, but not on this year's thread)

Got our docs too! Yippee!!! Getting so close now. And Way to go on the PX90!!!! That is a hard core program. I am having all I can do to get my daily exercise and zumba classes in.

Since I had found that mickey waffle iron, it is now officially a Sunday tradition. Keeping us all excited for the cruise, too!

Working on the fish extenders stuff today.... hoping to get them all done before mid-terms next week.

Have a great week everyone!

We decided to upgrade on Friday to a room with a verandah (well I say 'we" but what I really mean is "I"--as I went and called DVC and made the switch then informed DH. LOL). With my DD being only 8 I thought it would be nice to have a place to drink our morning coffee and let her sleep or to have a glass of wine at night after putting her to bed.

SOOOOOOO--our cabin ## has changed but I unfortunately do not know to what just yet because we are now a GTY... :)

thanks for the info on the WIFI. I am an attorney so I NEVER get a "day off"--even when the courts are closed and there is no mail delivery... sigh.
It being a holiday SHOULD keep the interruptions to an absolute minimum (or at all) but you never know....

Renee: we knew you were an attorney by your board name...in fact our avatar is a deliberate play on the profession as well as we are both attorneys...but that said, I still try to limit my contacts while on a cruise to a couple times per day plus calls from the islands. And I think you probably made the right call upgrading now rather than risk gambling at the port. Now back to trial prep for the jury I have to pick next week and we are sitting #1 and this will not settle on the Courthouse steps.

Chuck--good luck with your jury trial. I had a federal jury trial in September. Went on for 6 days before the Judge sat the parties down and suggested the best resolution was a settlement. It was a fun one thats for sure--interrupted smack dab in the middle by all the flooding we had here in PA (had to close up early one day and cancel the trial completely the next and we lost a juror in the process) not to mention an earth quake and a hurricane during the weeks prior while we were prepping (I swear we were cursed). Generally I tell my assistant and my partners not to call me on vacation unless its a complete emergency. In 16 years my one partner has called me exactly ONCE while i was in Disney--and that was only to inform me I had won a big Summary Judgment motion. (so I forgave him). I did manage a week in Italy a few years ago with only two phone calls back to the office. But I like to know they CAN reach me if they need to and I like to check in occassionally to make sure nothing has blown up in my absence... LOL

:goodvibes I figured you were both attorneys too. Renee let me know when you get your new cabin #. Good for you. Just tell DH that they gave you a better room because of how spectacular you are. :wizard:

Lori, we would love to be added to the FE list now that I know what it is all about. Thanks for the info, it sounds like fun!

Renee: Harrisburg by any chance? I was supposed to start a jury trial in either Scranton or Wilkes-Barre a couple weeks ago, but that one we managed to settle on the eve of trial...and no I am not admitted in PA, just pro hac vice for the case....opposing firm was Johnson Duffie.

Chuck:cool1:

yep Harrisburg. My office is a block away from the Federal Courthouse here. And I know Johnson Duffie well--have a few friends who work there. Who was your judge?

(I grew up in Scranton--my parents still live up that way)

We had Judge Caputo...I was up in Wilkes-Barre in person a couple times on the case....and besides, I used to work in summer camp up in Wayne County too many years ago, so I know the area...am considering sending DS Mason to a camp there this coming year too....

I've subscribed to this thread thinking I'd get e-mails notifying me of posts. I haven't seen much in my mailbox, so I figured this was a quiet bunch. I think I'm caught up now and will be stopping in more regularly.

My family is getting excited! FE gifts are in process. Shuttle to port from hotel is reserved. Online check-in is (mostly) complete.

Can't wait!!!

Once you post on a thread, it subscribes you to it. However, check your settings, you may have them set to only notify you differently. Also, if a new post is posted, you will get an email. You will not get another email until you log in to the DISboards. Once you log in, it will again notify you to new posts for that thread. I hope that makes sense.

Only 1 month to go!!!:woohoo::banana::yay:

My kids are both band kids in HS, and we just hosted our first ever competition on Saturday night. I'm still recovering from it, but hopefully now, I'll be around to post more.

We are all really looking forward to being back on board the Magic.

Just upgraded our cabin to a verandah! I always wake up before the rest of the family so this will give me a place to sit and read a book while they snore away.

Looks like we started the upgrade trend...but with 3 sea days, that verandah will really make a difference, especially with no virtual portholes like the Dream.

Chuck:cool1:

that was my exact thinking re: upgrading to a veranda. if it was only a 3 or 4 day crusie I might have spent more time mulling it over. It will be a nice place to relax in the early AM and later at night. I rarely "sleep in" and have been known to get a 4 to 5 mile run in along the beach or in the fitness center at various resorts while my DD and DH sleep whenever we go on vacation. I kind of like the quiet peacefullness of the early morning! When we bought our DVC add on points at the AKV, my absolute favorite part of the day is the early morning drinking my coffee watching the animals all by myself!

Call me when you wake up, I will sneak up in my jammies and join you for some quiet mommy time!!:thumbsup2
