What if WDW banned Alcohol?

Maybe most don't over indulge, but there's nothing so magical about the parks that stops alcohol from being alcohol. If banned, my heart goes out to the 24 year old locals who treat the parks as their stomping grounds for a few drinks on a Tuesday night while I'm on my family vacation for the year. To them, I must be one of those annoying parents who brings kids to their beer garden.

Charge me more to make up for the lost revenue.

This is the perfect way to sum it up. The people who like this atmosphere try to dismiss the point by suggesting you are claiming the Epcot crowd is a bunch of sloppy drunks. That’s not it at all.
It’s a 20 something (and v early 30s) locals crowd -that does feel very much like a crowd- and all they are doing is hanging out drinking. As a family walking through this you very much feel out of place and it’s inconvenient because you have to navigate your family through this. While you are on vacation. It’s just not the right vibe at all for a family trip. To avoid it you have to go early and leave right after lunch. The other way to do it is start in the countries and finish in the front of the park before this crowd shows up in the World Showcase around 2-3pm onward.

I don't think it's greedy for Disney to offer alcoholic beverages. While their primary audience may have been small children when the very first park opened seven decades ago, the demographics have shifted and the original little park has expanded into multiple giant parks. There is enough room for everyone from age zero to 100+.

A successful business must adapt to current demands. Many adult visitors enjoy having access to alcoholic beverages, and the parks are simply meeting that demand. It's a mutually profitable relationship that enhances the experience for many guests.

Stopping the sale of alcohol would not only suppress the fun for a large portion of the current audience, but would also lead to overall price increases in order to make up for the lost profit.

I think they could outright get rid of the rides that draw children/families into the world showcase and just make it their "beer garden" of Disney.

It pains me to want it that way, as I think an immersive world showcase that was just focused on rides and characters would be truly magical. But the food and drink options in World Showcase drastically outnumber the number of attractions.

Honestly, the past few times I've brought my kids to Epcot, we go to the world showcase for Ratatouille, and the activities in Norway like Frozen Ride, meeting Elsa and Anna, and Akershus. We try to get all that done by 11AM and then go hit up the northern end of the park. While those are natural places for those things, I'm sure Disney could get creative putting them elsewhere.

If World Showcase was strictly food and drinks, at least parents would know what they were getting into when venturing down there for a food reservation. Kids already will find most of the stuff in World Showcase boring with the exception of a few rides.

In my opinion, the majority of guests are not drinking to reach a level of frat-house intoxication. Many of us find a glass of wine can enhance the flavors of a dish, or a sip of champagne pairs well with a piece of cake. I personally enjoy a hint of liqueur in my afternoon coffee. We view alcohol as an integral part of the cuisine. Removing this aspect would certainly diminish the "fun" of the experience.

I think you're mispresenting my point. I like a drink too, don't get me wrong, but it's not an integral part of my Disney World parks experience. Is alcohol really integral to your enjoyment of Walt Disney World's theme parks?

I can give or take it and it's one element that I wouldn't find necessary for enjoying a family theme park. Alcohol is everywhere these days. Let's get back to wholesome fun without the sauce.
