T-Day Cruisers 2011, November 19-26th, 2011

Hi all-

We had planned to cruise on the 4 night Dream over Thanksgiving due to DS's school schedule (almost 12-7th grade). However, yesterday his school district decided to cancel school for the entire week of Thanksgiving!! As a result, we transferred our reservation today to the 7 night Magic!! We love spending Thanksgiving on DCL!! We have either been on the Magic or Wonder each year since 2004. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Also, we would love to join the FE exchange. Please let us know what information is needed.

Hi all! I'm trying to read through all these posts, but I likely won't finish before taking a break so I thought I'd introduce myself now . . .

I'm Brandie, and this is my family's first Disney cruise. My immediate family is my husband, son (15), son (13), daughter (7) and son (4). We're also traveling with my mother in law, sister in law, brother in law and his family of 4. (3 cabins, total.)

I just ordered my Passporter online so I've been reading up on my Kindle until it arrives. I'm deciding on excursions at this point, but I've still got lots to do (make door magnets, choose formal wear, choose regular wear and find out what I don't already know!)

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Has anyone done the St. Maartin butterfly farm tour? I see it also includes time to shop so I am curious as to how much time you spend at the butterfly farm (which my DD would love) and how much time shopping (which I would love....)

Welcome aboard! I don't think the FE group is closed. Your family will probably really enjoy the FE exchange. It is a great way to get my DD5 back to the room so she can see if anything is waiting for us.

FE's are fun and can be very inexpensive, or not, by choice...see oriental trading as one possibility.

And on Dream, it is FE or S(H)E depending whether you are port or starboard, where S(H)E = Seahorse Extender.

Really thought we were done w/the Magic, but can only do Nassau so many times....ie, once was more than enough and we have been there several times, but I will miss the Aqua-Duck.

Welcome! The FE is not closed, I guess we need to bring up when and if we want to close it. I've done it both ways. Some people have preferences depending on what they are doing for the gift. For most, it's easy to add a couple extras so if any stragglers come, they can be included. We're a small group, so I love that I can afford to do a little more. There are countless threads about FE gifts and ideas. Just go to the top of the threads page and search. Many will post pictures of things they got while on their trip. One of those links you saw posted will direct you to measurements to make them. Some order theirs on Ebay. You can totally sew it though....I'm not a sewer, and I made ours.

Here's the graphic..... Family is in black, did I do it any other way? Whenever you are copying or d/l an graphic, always click on it multiple times to get it as large as you can. Yes, this is for a full page if that is how big you want it.

I'm making the list for the FE group, so if you want to do it, PM me.

bc I am making some handmade items that will take a little time, I would request a group closing by early October at the latest. As a full time working mom I may not have a whole lot of time to scramble to add some extras at the last minute. Its just my observation!

We live in Harrisburg but were lucky to live on "higher ground" so our house was not affected at all. My office however is on 2nd street, and as the water crept up front street it got a little scary but we got through it unscathed. my family lives in the Wilkes Barre area but thankfully not in the flood zone. their only issue is my sister lives on one side of the river and my parents on the other and they were down to only one bridge that was open to get back and forth!

I would request a group closing by early October at the latest.

I will agree to this deadline. I would like to start wrapping everything up by then myself.

Being a Florida resident, I know there is a decent chance that Florida resident rates could open up sometime in October for this cruise, and like years past, that means late additions to the thread (it has been me too at least once in the past) who will want to participate in the FE's. Early October will probably be too early to know, as it often takes up to the last 30 days for release of resident rates. Thus, I would suggest Halloween, or very close to it for your cut-off. (Currently, some October dates have been opened and there are quite a few empty cabins for our sailing week).

I was kind of leaning towards late October as well, for the reasons stated above. How about October 30th? That is almost 3 weeks to sailing. or if a couple of days make that much of a difference, we could do the 26th or 27th.

I plan on extras for those late comers. I've always done 5 extra of what I'm doing, and only one time did I need more, and it was only 1. Sometimes I have to come up with something else, not exactly the same. Or, instead of individual gifts, I give a group gift for the cabin.

I'm game either way. I'm not doing anything that I need a deadline.

BTW.....If you haven't given me wrist measurements, please email them to me. Sorry there is no surprise to this, I couldn't think of any other way to do it.


Anyone else want to weigh in? Then we'll decide.

You sound like me. Normally, I have no clue. This is the first time I've been organized this early for the FE gifts.

I was out shopping today and saw all of the halloween stuff out and thought to myself.... our vacation is getting closer!! Hooray!!
