We are:

Tony, (DH - Tony64) age 44 - in charge of driving, collecting coffee and doughnuts for breakfast, running to get fast passes and generally stressing. This is his ninth trip.

Theresa (me), age 43 - in charge of the credit cards and plotting quickest routes to the shopping malls. This is my tenth trip.

Maddie (DD), age 19 - jointly in charge of where we eat, shop and play this trip. This is her seventh trip.

Callum (DS) age 18 - in charge of himself. This is his seventh trip.

Sunday 24th August 2008

As yesterday didn’t go quite as planned, we decided to stray from our itinerary today and go shopping instead of a park. We started off with breakfast at the Golden Corral and decided on the new one on the 192. It was very nice; all freshly cooked and delicious. The waitress was very friendly and chatty and told us about Tropical Storm Fay which had just passed through. She said there was 8 solid days of torrential rain which finished yesterday. :scared1:

After breakfast, we drove up to the factory outlets at Lake Buena Vista. Maddie bought Skechers sandals and Converse trainers as well as a Gap hoodie, each for $21.39 with tax. Cal bought some shorts and a baseball. Tony got a tee-shirt and I only bought socks!

We then drove to Walmart and went mad buying lots of lovely food! This included lots of icecreams, cakes, texas toast (which we love), low fat snacks for when we are back on our diets at home, and essentials like juice, milk, coffee, beer and pina colada mix! We bought the new “House” series 4 dvd set and some scrapbooking card and bought Cal a camera as an early Christmas present. We decided to give this to him straight away so he could use it on the holiday.

After Walmart we headed home to our condo for an hour then had to go back to Walmart to take Cal’s camera back as it had already gone wrong. We had only driven a mile or two before the replacement broke too! :confused3 We turned around, went back to Walmart yet again and got our money back as it was agreed there might be a faulty batch.

From there we drove to Downtown Disney and ate at one of our favourite restaurants, the Rainforest Cafe. It was delicious as usual and we were too full for a dessert. The total bill was $120 including tip and tax.

After this we wandered around some of the shops where Maddie bought a little glass Snow White ornament at Arribas Brothers for her collection. We decided on an earlyish night so left World of Disney for another day and went back to the condo.

great shopping & great food - what more do you need :)

A great day. :thumbsup2 Those Ribs look yummy! :goodvibes

Only socks!! Oh, Theresa, you weren't really trying--or else you were saving your energy for Wal-Mart where you certainly did much better.

Has Matt seen Tony's 5 O'clock Somewhere shirt? If we don't find one for Matt, I fear there could be a fight.

What wonderful memories (and photos for your scrapbook) this vacation is generating.

Nice relaxing day after the trouble you had yesterday.Shame about the cameras.Ribs looked delish :thumbsup2 .x.

Yes, the food was lovely at the Rainforest. We had a bad meal here once, but decided to give it another try, and it's been one of our favourites ever since.

I have seen it Susan have no fear! Whilst it looks good on Tony I can't help but think it'd look better in it;)

A very reserved shopping spree at WalMart, I wonder if you'll venture back again this trip:confused3 :lmao:

Hi Matt T shirt was $7.50 from Big Dog BARGAIN
Walmart was our second home.:goodvibes

Matt don't get too upset but we had to throw the last of the Pina Colada mix away :scared1: as we didn't want to risk it in the cases coming home.:sad1: :scared:

Great start to your holiday. Sounds like you got some good bargains. We must try the RFC one day, the food looks really good.

Likely story about the camera - you just didn't want to admit to going to Wal-Mart three times in one day! :rotfl:

Great first day Theresa - I think I can guess which meal was Tony's at the Rainforest Cafe ;)
