System update going on right now...

Just decided to call on a whim to see if there were any PINs on my record, and was told the system was down due to some "magical" updates going on...

Never know what that means, but the timeframe is good... wonder ponder.

I wouldn't put much hope into that "magic" being a discount. We would have known about the next discount by now. They are always leaked before they appear officially. The current offer expires March 31, so we might not see anything new until April.

I think "magical updates" is code for "the server crashed". I agree with smitch425. If there were any new discounts coming up soon, the information would have leaked by now.

I'm probably reading WAY too much into this, but DH called Disney last night to upgrade our PH Ticket to 8 day instead of 7 day, and while he was on the phone he asked if we had any PINs attached. The CM looked, and said there was nothing there right now, but to keep watching online, on tv and to watch his mail and email, because she was told that a new wave of offers was coming out soon. She told him that she didn't know if it was going to be a general public offer, or if it would be PINs though. So, just FYI.

Since one of the current spring offers expired last night they have updated the pages to remove the expired offer. That may have been what they were doing. I'm guessing we'll have to wait until the other spring/summer offer expires before the fall offers come out.

Pins are discount codes sent out to specific people at random (or some mystery criteria). Example: Free Dining pins were sent to people for travel Jan - Mar 7 but Free Dining was not offered to the general public. People who received the pins could travel during those dates, use the pin, and get free dining.

Today while modifying a reservation I made last night. The CM stated that new discounts should be put in a few weeks. Crossing fingers that its true !!
