We are flying to MCO via Syracuse and are still unsure of where to stay. Any suggestions for a hotel with an early morning shuttle service as well as a park n fly?

We are flying out of Syracuse to Orlando for the first time in December (on our last trip, we flew Sunwing out of Toronto but this time, prices were wayyyy too high :scared1:).

We checked out a whole bunch of park and fly packages for Syracuse, and the best rate we could find was at the Comfort Inn & Suites Airport. With our CAA discount, we got a nightly rate of $94.99 plus tax, then we will pay $5 per night parking (tax included). Total rate (paying for parking for seven days) is $140.34 taxes in. The hotel has an indoor pool, a complimentary airport shuttle, free breakfast, etc.

I was actually very surprised at how expensive the park and fly rates were for Syracuse.......I was totally expecting to find a $99 package like are readily available when we fly out of Pearson.

Still hoping we might find a better park and fly package as we grow closer to our travel date, but if not, we can live with this one.

The Best Western Syracuse Airport is right next to the airport and has shuttle service (though close enough to walk!). They charge $6 per night for parking. Never stayed there as we are close enough to drive up in the morning.

This was my experience there last year....

Good:
-Shuttle
-Parking

Bad:
- Smelly room
- Thin walls
- Our room window was of the pool so we had no ventilation in the room.

I liked the doubletree in Syracuse but they don't have a park and fly option.

I could be picky, but read trip advisor and see what others have said as well.

Was this at the Best Western or the Comfort Inn & Suites?

just a few weeks ago i took a drive from ottawa to check out the route to the airport, since i was trying to decide whether to spend more to fly out of here or to drive there and pay less for the flights from Syracuse.

I ended up booking with JetBlue, and our flight leaves at 7am, so im thinking we are going to drive over the night before and just hang out until its time to check in, not bothering to book a hotel for that night but rather book the hotel for our return when we arrive home 9 days later...after 9pm.

but i forget the name of the hotel thats in walking distance of the airport...do you think we should reserve or take our chances and check in somewhere else. if worse comes to worse we could just drive home...but in February the weather could be unpredictable
:confused3

The weather between Watertown and Syracuse can be so unpredictable during the winter months. :car: Last year, we ended up leaving a day early so we could avoid a winter storm! I would book a hotel package and check the weather the day before to see if you really want to make the drive. You have until 6pm of your check-in day to cancel if you place it on your credit card. Recently we have stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites and it is so much better than the Best Western! They also have a great free hot buffet, so you don't have to factor in paying for your breakfast. I think they also have an indoor pool, but we didn't use it. On Wednesday, we are staying at the Holiday Inn Express as my friend was able to get a great deal on the park and stay package. I will post a review on it when I return from WDW if anyone is interested. You can also PM me as well!

I would love to hear your review on the Holiday Inn when you get back .... have a great trip.

We are trying the holiday inn express also in March. Booked JetBlue and we don't fly til 10am but there is no way I would risk missing that flight with variables like weather, customs at border, etc so we booked the night before at the hotel. Would love to hear from Disers on this property. I'm a bit of a hotel snob so hoping it is nice and clean.

We've stayed at a few of the Syracuse hotels other posters have mentioned, so for what it's worth, here are my observations...

Holiday Inn Express Airport is clean and fairly new. Really close to airport. But they have had issues with their park and fly situation (unpaved parking lot, vandalism).

Candlewood Suites Airport is a bit older but clean. Also close to airport. Rates similar to Holiday Inn Express, which is right next door.

Best Western Airport is an old motel in poor state of repair and not that clean. Would not recommend this one.

Holiday Inn Express Cicero is about 10 minutes north of airport just off HWY 81. New and clean. Decent place to stay.

Comfort Suites Cicero is close to the Holiday Inn Express. New and clean. Competitive rates. Would also be a good choice.

You might consider taking your car to the airport and leaving it in the parking building. Yes, it is $10 per day, but your vehicle is protected from the elements and waiting for you upon your return. That's what we have done. (You must arrrive early though, since the parking building fills up. Overflow lot is a bit cheaper but outdoors.)

Have a good trip.

I will be anxiously waiting the review of the Holiday Inn Express as well popcorn:: .

We just changed our reservation from the Comfort Inn & Suites to the HIE when I was able to get a $60 room rate under my Priority Club membership. Parking will be extra, but I love the option of either taking the shuttle and leaving the car at the hotel or parking at the airport and keeping the car out of the elements (I will let hubby decide when we arrive....my bets are on him being thrifty and paying $5/nt to park at the hotel rather than double at the airport, but who knows? He may surprise me).

I typed out a response and it disappeared. GRRR

Anyway, I've stayed at the Comfort Suites Cicero 2x and highly recommend it. I've never flown from there, but was traveling through and stopped there (and will be doing so again in January...I go on a girls weekend each year in MA) Anyway, the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable...never swam but the pool looks nice. And it's beside Cracker Barrell :thumbsup2

Our flight is at 11:30am, but we'll drive down teh night before because I don't want to risk the weather. Last year I got into snow between Watertown and Syracuse and I never want to do that again! :scared1:

We're booking at both ends of the trip and thought about something closer to the hotel (although the CS Cicero has a shuttle)

A friend has stayed at the Candlewood (at least I think that's what it was) at the airport and said it was nice, so I might look into that
