Does anyone have any kids who are into this? I have just bought the windmill and the car and caravan for my dd who wants it for Christmas! I did consider the regency hotel but thought the windmill looked like more fun as she is only 2! just need to get some furniture families and accessories now!

My youngest DD was really into this and got hours of pleasure out of playing with it. I'm sure your DD will love the windmill as although my DD had a large house with a conservatory her favourite home for her families was the barge. It's such nice stuff that when she grew too old for it we packed it all up and put it in the loft just in case we ever have any grandchildren!! ;)

Hope your DD has lots of fun with it. :goodvibes

Oh I love Sylvanians! I had loads of them as a child and mum has kept them all for when I have kids :goodvibes

In fact we were in Harrods the other week and spent ages looking at all the things we'd like - meerkat family, car / caravan and the pizza parlour were high out our list :lmao:

That's brill it's nice to be able to pass it on!

I've still got all mine from when I was a kid

That's great it looks like really nice stuff, I am hoping it's something she can keep!

My daughter has had them as number one on every birthday and Christmas list since she was 3. Five years on and they still head up the first prize in her eyes for pocket money and requests. She will actually save up her pocket money to buy more Sylvanian items for her collection!

Not a cheap hobby, but rather that than all the little bits and bobs. I must say though, space eventually becomes a major challenge!

When I was a kid, these were totally the in thing, one xmas, my parents promised me that I'd be getting the house and stuff, but Santa 'forgot' to get it for me i.e. those who were supposed to purchase it left it until the last minute and with it being very popular it was sold out.

I have never gotten over it, and still mention it to my parents ;) My dad even mentioned my disgruntled attitude to missing out on SF in his speech at my wedding. :rotfl:

I can't wait until my girls are old enough to want it/play with it, as I'll finally get my wish to play with SF :D

I forgot to add: My DD has the windmill on her Christmas list already! She has several of the houses, school bus, caravan, car, enough families to account for half the population in our county :lmao: She spends hours playing with the things. Of course you have to be prepared to allow them to sit out for a good week at least. The amount of time DD spends setting everything just right would make it cruel to force her to pack it away at the end of the day. ;)

Aw, I loved Sylvanian Families when I a kid. I had the boat house, which had a rather awesome hammock and the barge, which was my favourite. A family of otters lived in it;)

Think my parents still have mine up in the loft JIC

Bought my cousin some for my cousin last christmas, I've no idea how they went down though! Hopefully she fell in love as it's what she's getting this year too! :rotfl:

I actually had 2 windmills my divorced parents both got me it for Christmas one year. I also had a house and a mansion. My firends had them as well, I remember a school and a bakery.

Another one I loved was "O Penny".

I loved O Penny, that's what I got instead of SF when they were sold out. I had the mansion, the barn, the tree house and loads of little bits with it. It probably kept me more amused than SF, but I still haven't forgiven my parents. :rotfl:

I had the department store, the teehouse, and the swimming pool. Again my friends had it as well and one had the mansion and another had the camper van which I coveted!

I had O Penny, I think I had nearly all that was available. My parents & family got me it come christmas & birthdays. Its still up the loft.

I always wants Sylvanian families but never got it

Shelby has got quite a lot of Sylvanian stuff, we also stock it in the shop, so she gets to see what she wants and save up for it or asks for it as presents. She mainly has the figures and furniture, we bought her a lovely dolls house for Christmas last year from Asda, and I thought the Sylvanian furniture, whilst still pretty expensive was a lot more hardwaring than the proper (very expensive) dolls house furniture. I also consider it to be 3 year old brother proof! :)

My items have just arrived today I am very pleased!!!! I just need to order some furniture and families now, it' soooo cute it's going to end up costing me a fortune!
