Last shows are on Aug 13 and 15. I really enjoyed watching the children when they got picked. Some of them created some very special moments for me.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear that. It will be missed. :guilty:

Very very sad to hear. When I was a kid I was picked to be the king... last year i was picked to be the "bodyguard." That show will have everlasting memories attached to it.

We were disappointed that they didn't have it when we were there late June. I read somewhere that they had discontinued it for this summer because of congestion around the castle area. I'm guessing it is being replaced by the "Royal Court Academy". This is from another website:

10 August 2006: New Magic Kingdom entertainment offerings

As part of the Year of a Million Dreams celebration, the Magic Kingdom will be rolling out some new entertainment offerings. These are all scheduled for a late September 2006 soft opening.

Woody's Cowboy Camp in the Frontierland area
Mainstreet Family Fun Day Parade
Highschool Musical Pep Rally in Tommorowland
Royal Court Academy in the Castle Hub area
A new castle show replacing Cinderellabration, currently titled "Mickey's Dream-Along Castle Party"

:guilty: :sad2: :furious: :sad1: :(   I loved that show and I planned on showing it to my GF when we went back.

Wow, I thought Merlin was terrific!

So glad I videotaped the whole show when we were there this last June.

"...you must believe!"

"And I... must be LEAVING!"

:goodvibes

That is sad. I remember when my sister was chosen to pull the sword out. There was almost no one there. It was like our own private show. :)

This was a fun photo op.
I am hoping the stone will still be there for our trip in a few weeks...
anyody know?????

It will be a sad day next Tuesday when the show ends. It is being replaced by the Royal Acadamy show. I will definitely be there and tape it.

You guys can always come on out here to Disneyland! :thumbsup2 Maybe even check out Mr. Toad while your here.

That's what we do when we go to WDW....1st stops at the MK ...Go see the Country Bears & go on the people mover. :)

When we went to Disneyland we were very used to going to WDW. We wanted to go on the people mover very badly but it was closed in DL.

That's where there USED to be an amazing attraction called "Rocket Rods"...
Never HEARD of it? Not surprising...
it was broken down so MUCH that they simply closed and REMOVED the entire attraction about a year or so after its much-ballyhooed (and EXPENSIVE) creation and premiere!

We were lucky enough to actually ride that "E-Ticket" attraction before they finally "pulled" it.
It was FANTASTIC!

Look HERE:
http://www.yesterland.com/rocketrods.html

It took place (at high -speed) on the (former) "People-Mover" tracks that circled Tomorrowland, high above the guests walking below (they call the "People-Mover" the "Tomorrowland Transit Authority" now at WDW's MK) ...

GREAT -when the Rocket Rods where actually MOVING-.
But once they STOPPED due to malfunction (which was quite frequently) there was NO EXIT path for guests out on those narrow tracks.
They had to SIT and WAIT (sometimes for an hour. or so!!!) until the CM's could "limp" the cars back to unload.

Same "touchy" MOTOR-DRIVE system that is used in "Test Track" at Epcot (also prone to frequent break-downs).
At least at Epcot, when Test Track "stops" (and it does so frequently), the guests can "walk away" if need be.

So sad that Rocket Rods could not "perform" at DLR. Otherwise, I'm sure we would have had these amazing Rods at WDW's MK now, instead of the TTA.

I know...I miss the people movers. Sad thing is the ride they replaced it with was open for such a short time and then it has been closed FOREVER! Sad...But hey, I still miss America Sings. My kids laugh at me because I LOVE the peoplemover. They just don't realize the great memories it brings back...I just sit there and pretend I'm at Disneyland. :)
