We currently have 2 Room only reservations for January because we are doing a split stay. So we have 800 some dollars on our regular Disney Visa. I just sent in an application for the Premiere Disney Visa. When the 2013 packages come out and I switch over my reservation (and change my hotels a bit, flipping the order from which I originally had them) can I just have them credit my old Visa and put the new amount on the new Visa? Or will that screw up my dining reservations that I currently have?

Any refunds will go back on the cc that was used for the deposit, so your old Visa will get the credit from the room only ressie and you can charge the new package deposit to the new card. Dining reservations aren't tied to resort reservations as you only need the resort confirmation to make ADRs 180+10, so nothing will change with your dining unless you make changes. HTH :).

Wonderful! Thank you very much :) We made several ADR's that required CC, and I thought I read back on an old post that they wanted you to use the CC that you had booked your resort with, but I never verified the info.

You're welcome :). That's interesting about the cc for ADRs as I've never heard that.

It was random when I was googling things. It was probably incorrect anyway. I just realized my email said it can take up to 10 days. There's no harm in waiting to change over to packages right?

I know they ask for a phone number they can get in touch with you with during the trip, but I'm not sure about the CC. Would make a bit of sense?

the credit card thing is newer...when I made a reservation while in WDW last December I had to secure it with a credit card even though I didn't need it when I made my other ADRs at 180 days. (The reservation rule was started after I had the reservations...was for 1900 Park Fare we were changing plans that night) It's not all the restaurants but it is some of the more popular/some character ones.

Since you have a room only they refund that deposit anyways and charge your pkg separately so I don't think it would be a problem. I'd just make sure you had your regular Disney visa while on your trip in case for the dinners

If you're concerned with getting the refund on the room only before making a new deposit on the package, I don't think it's a big deal to wait to book for January. Also, just wanted to add that if you call and book the package, you can get 7 days to make the deposit. You have to call, though, to book it and get that hold as booking online requires the deposit to be made right away.

I'm not worried about getting the refund before hand. I just applied for the Premier card today. They said I won't get approved and be able to make purchases for around 10 days. I really wanted to get as many of the 5% rewards as I can

I think you'll be fine. If you applied today, I would call on Wednesday to make the new reservation and get the hold for 7 days. If you can't use your card right at the 7 days, you can always call Disney and ask for a few days extension. I have done that in the past with no problem looking at only a day or two extra and have gotten an extra 7 days to make the deposit. If you do need to get a few extra days, make sure you call because if the deposit isn't made by the 7th day (or it isn't extended by a CM), the reservation will automatically cancel.

When I applied for my Disney Premier it was approved instantly online and I received the cards in the mail in less that a week. Interestingly, as I already banked with chase (checking, savings, ccs) the day after I had applied when I logged into my chase online account the new Disney account had appeared there already :thumbsup2
