Hello All,

I'm trying to secure a reservation for November and I would like to stay at BWV or BCV for at least part of my trip. I found that I can book a 1 bed for just 2 nights, however, will have to switch to OKW or SSR for the other 3.

I'm booking a 1 bed so that I have a full kitchen, so I'll have plenty of items in the fridge to transfer to the other resort mid trip.

Has anyone done this before and what did you do? I was thinking of just buying enough for the 2 days and going back to the store for the other 3 days, but I think I'll be throwing out stuff that way.

The only other option for me would be to be put on a waitlist for BWV/BCV or book the entire trip at OKW or SSR. I wanted to stay at BWV or BCV for a least a couple of days due to the fact we're going to Epcot for 2 days and I wanted the convinence of being close so my elderly mom could go back to the room and rest during the day while I stay at the park. She won't do well on the bus transportation. She even gets lost on cruiselines and I have had to get stewards to physically walk her to the buffet and back when I wasn't available. She depends on others to get her around and I could easily walk her back to BWV or BCV and then go back to Epcot for the remaining of the day.

I appreciate your feedback.

Julia

Will you have a car? Does she have a handicap placard? EPCOTs handicap parking is convenient. You could stay at OKW and drive to EPCOT, then take her back in the room in the afternoon and ride the bus back to EPCOT for your afternoon/evening park enjoyment.

One park I would NOT recommend driving to, from ANY resort, is Magic Kingdom. Be sure and use resort buses for MK no matter where you stay.

If you have a cooler of some kind to hold your perishables, I believe the resorts will keep the items in a fridge or freezer until you're ready for them.

We switched rooms mid-trip a few years back and just called bell services when we got settled in the new room, and they brought the cooler right up. I would hope that would still be the case.

I think it would be more important not to move and I would stay where I could get all my days.

Check in is after 4 and at BCV that may well be the case. They operate at capacity the majority of the time, so you would have to wait for that room to be cleaned and released. 1 time out of 3 BCV stays our room was ready before 2pm.

If I was travelling with my MIL, I would stay where we did not have to move and on our EPCOT day/s I would bus over with her when she was ready to leave and then return to the parks.

Definitely use the waitlist for all your days at BCV and BWV too.

OKW and SSR are not EPCOT resorts, but they are not that far either. I'd say a 15 min. bus trip and the busses are direct once they leave their respective resort.

If you decide to move use bell services to store your bags and food items. I would take one of those insulated cooler bags to make packing up easier.

party: party: party: WE WERE JUST THERE APRIL FORF TEN DAYS WE SPENT 7 IN SSS WHICH HAD A KITCHEN AND MOVED TO YACHT NCLU WITH NO KITHCEN WE LOST A COUPLE OF THINGS ;LIKEE MILK OJ NOT MUCH. I THOUGHT THE MOVE WAS EASY BUT IMLOVE THE 2 BED AT SSS AND FELT CRAMOED AT YC UT IT WAS WORTH IT TO STAY THE EXTRA DAYS

A few months ago, I moved from OKW to POR with perishables (and no car). OKW was super about storing my perishables, and whatever POR did, they were still cold when they got to my room. When we moved from OKW to FW 2 years ago, our perishables were moved and already in our cabin's refrigerator when we arrived. I thought that was especially nice.

Thanks all for your replies.

I've decided to make things easier and just stay in one place for the week. My mom wouldn't like packing up in the middle of the vacation and moving to another room. This is really a vacation for her and I'm going to make it where it's enjoyable for her and not just easy to get around the parks.

Thanks again.

Sounds like a great decision for you and your mom, Julia. I hope you have a magical vacation. :)

Not having to switch resorts will be MUCH easier; HOWEVER, I'd still recommend staying on the waitlists for the length of stay at BWV and BCV (both). One of them will most likely come through for you by November.

We moved resorts last week (OKW to BCV). We just caled bell svcs and they picked up the bags, perishables and all. I don't know that I would recommend it, though, as it seemed like we lost a day. We had to pack up, wait for bell svcs, go to BCV to check in, and spent lots of time waiting since the room wasn't ready until 4. We spent time in Epcot, but were used to taking afternoon breaks. It felt like we were "homeless" for a few hours. We enjoyed both resorts, though.

That's a good way to put it.
We always feel "homeless" too. I dont relax until we have a room and are settled in. Dh says we lose a day and he prefers to stay put.
