Switching resorts question?

I'm sure this has been answered but I couldn't find the info.

We have 5 nights booked at POR and are trying to decide whether to stay at a cheap offsite for the other 3 nights or to stay at a value for 3 nights. If we stay at a value resort onsite, will disney move our luggage for us? I thought I read that somewhere last year on these boards. If so, how does this work? Do we leave our bags in our room or do we bring them somewhere? We would be doing the value resort first and then switching to POR.

Thanks for any insight you might have!

Yes Disney will transfer your luggage for you. We have had to bring our luggage to the "bell station" and they will transport it to the other "bell station" at the new hotel while you are enjoying yourself in the parks! It's a great service.

We just did it May
From POR to ASMu
From ASMu to Poly
Both times they picked it up from our room and brought it to our room! It does take anywhere from 2-6 hours.
It was great!!!

ooohhh, room to room... :cool1: , that would be even better! Either way it would make our trip a little easier. Thanks!

I would stay at the value on site. Then you're already on Disney property and they will transfer your stuff for you. Done this several times with no problems. The only things that can happen is the usual check-in or check-out stuff....you don't like your new room and decide to try for a different one, you have to wait for the luggage to arrive at the new hotel (can take several hours), you have to find your way around a new hotel. I don't think I'd switch for less than 3 nites each, although we have switched for 2 nites once.

Last year we switched from POR to Poly, then from Poly to Pop. At POR, we stopped by bell services the night before and arranged a time for them to come to the room for the luggage. We didn't have to be there. We left the tip envelope on top of the luggage.

At the Poly, we called once we were in the room and the luggage was there in about 10 min. (around 3-4ish in the afternoon). When we switched to Pop, we called bell services the morning we left and waited in the room with the luggage (again, took about 5-10 min.).

At Pop, we stopped by bell services and told them what room we were in, they said they'd send it up. Don't know how long this one took since we headed off to the parks. When we were back, our luggage was waiting.

HTH:)
