switching reservation at 7 months, partial availibity?

I'm looking at switching my reservation at 7 months out (next week). As of today only 3 of the 4 days are available at the resort we would like to switch to. Is it possible to switch just the 3 days and keep the 4th day at the original resort, online or do I have to call?

We've never switched at 7 months before so have no idea.

If you have enough points you can book your new reservation for 3 days and then alter your existing to one day.

Otherwise I think you have to alter your current to one day to get the points available then book the 3 days. Of course, you could lose your days.

I also get to try to switch next week, but I will purposefully split a stay, so I am in the same boat basically. I plan on calling MS at 9

I would plan to call unless it is a modification that is the same dates, just resort change. I have called a few times recently for changes to our son and DIL's last minute trip in March as they were really lucky to get SSR and then hit the lottery when Poly became available. The last thing I wanted was to lose both reservations yikes!

You can not modify a partial reservation online. You must call. One other option is, if available, book the one night at your current resort that is unavailable in the new resort,,,if you have the points,

Then, you can modify the original resort that has all 4 nights next week online to pick up the 3 days that are.

If you have no extra points to do this, then you will be forced to call or risk losing what you have by changing that to one night first before getting what you want,

I have regularly booked the days I can get and waitlist the other days individually. As they come in I cancel the reservation days at the original resort. Again, the assumes you have the points to have the double booking, at least for a day. If not it gets more tricky, but the waitlist coming in is much, much faster and likely one day at a time rather than trying to get a block. Once you have the reservations you call and combine them all into one unit.

Thanks. I don't have the points to double book. I guess I will be calling next wednesday at 8am central. Hopefully the room is still there at that time. If not I guess I'll just wait list the entire 4 days.

lol I hope you're not trying for the Beach Club too. We're currently at Boardwalk but the kids want to swim at Beach Club so hopefully we get in there.

Darn. Even having the points to double book that one night would have given you the hour advantage.
