Switching mid trip.....

so, just wanted to throw this out there in case anyone else has these same issues. We checked into AKL on Thursday and we like it but decided we might want to be closer to Epcot for Food and Wine. I went to concierge at AKL yesterday asking if we could and they said yes but they didn't have any available rooms around Epcot and the only thing they had was contemporary garden wing. So I went back to my room at AKL and looked online. I found beach club for the nights I had just asked and I was dumbfounded. So, I brought my iPad back to concierge and showed them and asked if I could just book it on my own and check out early from AKL and they said yes and they would refund the nights from AKL that I didn't stay. I have two questions.
1. Why would they tell me that beach club was overbooked yet I was able to book online on my own?
2. We have magic bands already so can we still use those at the new resort once we check in tomorrow?

Magic bands are interchangeable. No need for new ones.

Maybe a cancellation that wasn't there a few minutes previously when the CM checked? Cancellations do come through all the time. That or the resort CM's are about as knowledgeable as the phone CM's.
