We are staying 3 nights in a studio and then switching to a 1 bedroom for the last five nights. Will our dining plan be affected? I'm guessing not, but I'm not sure. We are staying at the same resort (BLT), just switching rooms during the week. TIA!

Yes it could be. Since you have 2 different reservations...you have 2 different dining plans. So, all credits for the first part of the stay need to be used by midnight of the first checkout day. They are not combined into one dining plan for the whole stay. So be careful that you don't have all of the table service scheduled for the end of the trip and make sure you use up snack credits.

Hi not sure if this will help but thought I'd share last years experience. We did a split stay 6 days WLV and 8 days OKW. It did effect the DDP as each reservation had a seperate DDP package attached to it. We paid for each package seperately upon check-in. Our WLV package ran out at midnight on checkout day but our OKW package started up as soon as we checked in on that same day (around 2pm) So in effect we had our full WLV credits for day 6 and also got a full day of credits at OKW on same day. It seems like a good deal but you do need to to plan carefully to make sure you use up your Ist reservation credits by midnight on checkout day.

No it does not make a difference. It is all based on the rooms not the resorts.

Thank you. This is my first reservation as a new DVC member :)

We have done split stays with the dining plan. We were at different resorts, but as mentioned, even at the same resort, if you are moving to a different room, it is considered a new segement and the plans are technically separate.

What we did to make sure we used up the right cards was bring a Sharpie marker and mark the cards. This way, we were sure that we could use up the first credits before starting the 2nd ones.

The only thing you need to understand is that you can't combine the cards for a single guest on that check out/in day. For example, we had 2 credits left from the first part. There were 4 of us eating CS. I had to place it as two different orders and pay for 2 of us with the first card and then 2 of us with the 2nd card.

I'm staying at the same resort, just different rooms. Does that make a difference?

That would be two separate reservations. You would have to separate dining plans set up. The first plan would end on the day you check out of the first villa at midnight. The second plan would start the day you checked into the second villa.
