I need help! There is a huge interest in family coming to our wedding. My Dad just said, he thinks we need to switch to a Custom wedding. Here is my question. When it says "$100 food and beverage min." is that what a meal usually costs? or can that include the cake and say a Dessert Reception? I"m so lost. Excited but lost.

your food and bev min includes all food and beverages cosumed throughout the day... including your appetizers, main meal, dessert party, and any bar option you choose... I believe the cake is counted separate but I could be wrong...

After adding all ours up we found that we are at approx. $168/person (not including the viewing fee for the dessert party...) so hitting the $100 min is not a problem for us...

Good luck. Have fun planning!!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

That can include cake and a dessert reception. The 10k is without tax and service charges though so you will be looking at spending a minimum of 11k to 12k. That can include drinks and bar etc. Depending on what you were going to spend on an intimate by adding any extras you could do a low cost custom.

I think it depends on where your reception is wether or not your cake counts in that.. for example if you are at the California grill then your cake doesn't count in that minimum because it is made at the Grand Floridian and CG has its own food and beverage minimum.

I think the cake counts But if your speific location may have a minimum of its own - my reception is at Ariels and is being baked at GF bakery and it counts for my food along with my buffet, bar - but for example my tea party location White Hall Patio has a min food expenditure of 1000 whcich you would have no problem hitting -

Also your pre reception counts in there as well for food- if you will have one which I rhink Disney likes to have just for guests and that can be inexpensive - we are doing cheese crackers and fruit display-
Hope that helps - we are not doing a dessert party - so I am no help with that

I am not sure if rules have changed but my reception begins before 2 so my min is 75 per person - so you may want to consider that as well -

I know for us the appetizers, drinks, dinner buffet, cake and extra desserts all count towards the $100 pp minimum. I think the number of venues where that would not all hold true is fairly limited and your planner would be able to telll you what those were. I know that receptions at the GF have a higher min - $125 I think - so just ask and I'm sure they can explain. We are doing our recepotion outdoors in EPCOT and our minimum isn't higher, which is why I think the list is pretty small. I would guess CG is on the list because of the view of the MK.

GF receptions are higher in the evenings. They are $125 pp minimum. During the early afternoon they are $100 pp minimum. We looked at the menus that we were sent. They ranged from about $70-150 pp. This is before drinks. There are also so many add-ons. You also have a choice of plated or buffet.

It depend on where you have your reception and the time of day for your F&B min. We ended up having a brunch which is much less than lunch or dinner. If you go custom, your F&B does include beverages, food, and cake. This total is based off of all the food you have during the day (ie reception, dessert party, etc) Trust me when I tell you, you will have no problems meeting it. The min changes per the venue as well. So make sure that you know the min at the venue you want when you book it. I don't regret doing a custom at all vs an intimate.
