Switching DVC studio to regular room

We have 4 nights booked at Boulder Ridge and am thinking of adding one night at WL. If we ask at front desk during our stay any chance they’d let us stay in DVC studio that extra night instead of switching rooms? Like maybe if the studios they put aside to rent at rack rates aren’t booked?

If there is a room that can be paid for of same view and such then yes you can. It would be whatever the current rate is.

If there’s a studio available, they’d likely let you switch. You would pay any difference in price.

There’s no guarantee that you wouldn’t have to switch rooms when your Boulder Ridge reservation begins, though.

They don't put studios aside to rent at rack rate. Boulder Ridge is sold out to members. That means members own 95-97% of the possible points. The last 3% is owned by DVC and is usually maintained for maintenance issues or other issues. Members who own there and use their points to book the Disney Collection (DCL, Disney hotel-but not DVC) have their points turned into villas that are sold to the general public. So there are usually not that many villas available for cash reservations.

If you cannot book a unit, there is no unit to book. You will almost undoubtedly be switching buildings.
