So, since my 2 kids can't seem to keep their hands off of their books (and I really don't mind them wanting to look at them, it's what they're for), they keep messing up the postbound albums that I have extended.

I need some suggestions for albums that are not postbound that will stand the test of time.

Thoughts and TIA!

I can't think of the brand right now, but I prefer the 3-ring 12x12's. I'll see if the brand is listed somewhere and get back to you. They are just so much easier to reload an add to. I do still use the post bound, but would rather the 3 ring.

I switched to the We R 3 ring also. The pages always stay flat and you can really add onto them without a problem. That is pretty much all I use now.

Rachel loves those too :) I prefer CM albums, but, those obviously won't work since you already have the pages & protectors :)

I wouldn't mind switching protectors, my biggest complaint with CM is that the size wasn't a true 12x12! (I know they switched not too long ago...)

Our first family trip book was the old CM red album with the classic Mickey on the front.

I had to go back and trim down ALL of my pages!

CM are now true 12x12 (what a relief!!) but if your pages are quite bulky you might find it made the albums too heavy sticking th completed pages on the CM pages and squeezing them into the page protectors (still a little tight!)We don't really get much choice over here so I can't advise you on the best alternative:sad2:

Good to know for the future!

I don't go big very often, but there have been a few occasions where bulk was used (Disney bottle caps anyone???).

I think I'm going shopping this weekend!

Thanks everyone!

I also have problems with this decision. I love the post board albums because the pages end up being side by side with no gap. The three ring albums I have leave a large space into between the two pages (because I mainly do two page layouts unless I am using the wrong type of 3 ring). But the three rings hold more and don't become as wobbly as the post bound. I am tempted to try these, discussed on a different thread.

If you try out 3 ring binders, stay away from Making Memories brand. I have 1 that I used for an album that fell apart in just a couple months - the metal thing holding the 3 rings along the spine of the binder just popped off on one section. Very irritating!
