Hi Disfriends!

I am a Disney vet doing a first time solo trip in August. I was booked at CR and for a few reasons, I switched to a standard room at YC. I have never stayed at YC and I'm wondering how frequently a singleton gets put in a king bed room? I know it's not a bookable room category and it's not a deal breaker if I get two queen beds. Is this something I can put as a room request or are there other requests that might be important to make as a solo gal? I'm not a big room requester...I'm fine booking the category of room that I want and leaving it at that most of the time, but I thought I'd reach out to Disfriends to see what I should be aware of as YC is new-to-me.

I certainly recognize that folks don't have a crystal ball, but I was curious about anyone's prior experience. Thanks in advance for helping out a curious gal!

@Best Aunt thank you! Is there a way for me to "move" this post to the thread you suggested, or should I just copy and paste my post there? So sorry I'm not very tech savvy...:-)

No guarantees, but I think they tend to keep King rooms for singles or couples since they are definitely not going to be assigning them to families. But there aren't that many. You can try putting it in as a room request. I can't recall the configurations at YC but I know that at BC the King rooms are often in the corners so we usually would request one of those corner rooms so that we'd get the King rooms. Still, the two Queen bed rooms are nice and large with lots of storage so you can't go wrong there.

@kiford thank you! Good to know! I've never been to YC before so it's good to know that there aren't that many king rooms and that they are in the corners. I'm still deciding if I should make a request or just roll the dice. Either way, I'm at Disney so I can't lose! :flower:

@Best Aunt I'll copy and paste it on your suggest thread. Thank you!!

I stayed at YC solo and was given a king room. It doesn't hurt to place a "king room" request on your reservation.
