Well, we have been booked at POR, Vistana resort, and the Swan.... but now I have booked and paid for Cypress Point. We will have a 2 BR, and we got it on Hotelkingdom.com fr $93.00 per nite. Can't beat that!!! We will have a 2 BR for half the cost of the Swan deluxe room! So now we can spend more at the outlet malls!!! Can anyone tell me about the resort? Any opinions are needed!!! We leave in 2 days, I am so excited!!!! I would LOVE to hear/read all about this resort.... the rooms, pools, activities, distance to WDW, and any tips on a quick route to the parks!!! Thanks so much!!!

Check out the accomodations review board at the top of this one. There is a review for this resort there. That is a great rate, and it seems to get great reviews. I'm sure you'll be happy w/ your final choice. :)

We just returned from Cypress Pointe and we loved it!!! We also had a two bedroom. The volcano pool is wonderful. The staff was very nice. Everything on the property was very clean. The room is equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is 5 minutes away from downtown disney, and about 10-15 minutes or so from the theme parks. There are so many places to eat nearby (Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill, Chili's, Pizzeria Uno). We ate at Golden Corral once and the food was very good and inexpensive. We sat in on the timeshare presentation only because they were giving out 150.00 disney dollars. We didn't buy the timeshare but left with extra money for souvenirs! I totally felt the disney magic even though we were off site.

We were there beginning of April in a 3 bedroom and loved it!! They had lots of activities for the kids: bingo, soccer games, basketball games, mini golf, coloring contest, ping pong tournament..my kids are 10, 8 & 5 and LOVED IT!! We spent two days just hanging out at the resort doing all these things. And it is super clean, I'm married to an OC and he gave this place a big :thumbsup2 up said it was just as clean as staying at a Disney Hotel...you'll absolutely love it!!

how do you get to do the timeshare tour? I could stand a 90 min tour for 150.00 in disney dollars!!!! Will they ask at check in? And is the timeshare tour really 90 minutes, or do they keep you for hours? and is it high pressure? We would not be interested in buying a timeshare, but would do the tour if it's not too bad!! Thanks again for all the encouragement about my choice!! I feel good about it now, I was a little concerned about being offsite at first!!!

Do they have any shuttles to Disney or would we need to rent a car? Also, is not having housekeeping a problem or could we survive without it? Thanks!

We stayed at Cypress Pointe 2.5 yrs ago, and we loved it as well. We did the timeshare tour, and found it to be relatively painless. I think that the 90 mins was pretty much dead on. We stayed through skyauction for $262 for the entire week. It was pretty hard for them to dispute that we stayed for less than 1/2 the cost of the yearly maintenance fee, so we didn't find it hard pressure at all.

This is how I was approached about the timeshare presentation:
As I was leaving the check in counter, a man (in a smaller office space nearby) called me over to give me a welcome package. He told me where to buy groceries and get cheap gas, etc. He gave me a small bag with advil and imodium and other samples of things. Then he asked me if I wanted to go to a breakfast the next morning at 8am to learn more about them (or something like that). I said that was too early for us but that I would speak to my husband about it. The next morning they called us at about 10:00am. My husband set an appointment for us for the following day for 10:30. They served breakfast. Each family sits at their own table and a representative will come and talk to you. It did take the full 90 minutes, but did not go over. We just said we had to talk it over and were not ready to make a decision yet. He then gave us a small white paper which we turned into the office downstairs and redeemed our disney dollars. They did not bother us again about it. It was worth it for us!

I don't believe they provide shuttles to the parks. We did rent a car and it was great to leave the parks and hop into the car instead of getting on a crowded bus!

Enjoy!!!

I just booked this through HotelKingdom.com, just wondering why their rate is so much cheaper than any other website (such as Expedia.com, which was couble the price) Has anyone had any problems with HotelKingdom.com or is it all legit? Also since we won't be renting a car does anyone know how much a cab would be to Disney from the resort?

I've read many positive reports. I have no idea why hotelkingdom has such reasonable rates, but there are many folks here who have used them.

Are you completely unable to rent a car? I would imagine a one-way cab ride would be on the order of $15. If you go back and forth more than once each day, a car may well be cheaper, and it will almost certainly be less hassle, as you won't ever have to wait for it to show up.

Although the bulk of our stay at Cypress Point was through skyauction, I did add an extra day through hotelkingdom. They are excellent to deal with, and I had no problem linking the reservations so that we could stay in the same unit the whole time, and not have to check out and check back in again. I remember something about being charged twice for that extra day, once when I booked and then the hotel billed again. I discovered it after we got home and hotelkingdom took care of it with no trouble. Don't hesitate to use hotelkingdom!

We have stayed at Cypress Pointe for most of our WDW vacations, and went through Hotelkingdom to book every stay. Never had a problem with either. For our upcoming trip I decided to stay in a WDW resort but changed my mind. I just couldn't pay the same price for 1 room and 1 bath as I would a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo.

Thanks for your response! We can rent a car, but really hate renting from the airport as we are getting in real late at night and do not like driving on unfamiliar roads in the dark. Is there somewhere near Cypress Pointe were we can rent from the day after we arrive?
