switched reservation??

Has anyone taken someone elses reservation at a restaurant and just used their reservation number and their name? The cm told me it could be done and a nice person is willing to do it with me and I was wondering if someone has already done this.....I am sure it can be done just wanted an extra reassurance on this procedure. Thanks for your replies

There is no problem with this as long as it is not a reservation which requires a deposit. If a deposit is required the credit card must match.

Just make sure the donor does not give the reservation to someone else also. They are in the process of changing the reservation computer system in the restaurants and you get checked in on a computer which prints a ticket as opposed to the old method of writing a ticket. Under the old system it would be possible (if the host was not paying attention) for more than one family to check in on the same reservation.
