switch to use older DVC points for sold out date?

can MS switch a reservation to use up older points, if that category is not available now (so cannot canx and rebook)? I had a reservation that we are not going to use, which was booked with older DVC points and would like to apply those points to another reservation in which I used newer points.

If all the points are from the same home resort, AND the same UY then YES, no problem. But you have to call, can't do it on line. Just make sure to check your points BEFORE you leave the call.

You cannot circumvent the home resort booking advantage. But you can use points from a different home resort as long as the original reservation did not use the home resort advantage.
