They look scrumptious in the catalog. I never had any but I am considering ordering some as Christmas' presents and what not.

As always, I would love to hear your inputs. :goodvibes
Thanks!

Not quite as good as they look. I used to order, but decided they were way too pricey. :)

Everything I've ever seen from Swiss Colony looks great in the catalog but when you get them they are teeny tiny for the huge amount spent. Be very observant of the sizes (ounces) when you buy.

They do a fantastic job of making molehills look like mountains.:lmao:

The only thing I can vouch for is the petit fours - they are always fresh and delicious. My mom gives them to all her neighbors (and her daughter!) for Christmas every year!!!

I recieved some Petits fours as a gift and thought they were yummy. They are tiny and go quick though.

I was very tempted to get some stuff just based on how it looks, but now I have a better idea on what might be good/not good. So thanks! :goodvibes

I was always disappointed in the taste.

I'm like that with most desserts. They look so good, but when you taste them, you wish you had just kept looking. My aunt and uncle always send a Swiss Colony gift pack for Christmas to each of us. I love their cheese spreads, the other stuff, not so much.

We used to get the petit fours every year for Christmas from a family member. While we enjoyed them as a treat because they were sugar and they were there, the taste wasn't anything particularly special. Taste wise, I'd prefer a "ho ho."

I was given the petit fours as a gift last year. Yuck. They were sort of waxy and were chock full of preservatives. I'd rather have fresh baked goods any day.

I get the petit fours for my parents for their anniversary (Dec 22nd) every year. They are always good.

I like the ones I've tried, but to me they don't taste so very different from Little Debbie or Ding Dong type products. Sort of waxy and unnatural. And like others have said, they are TINY compared to how they look in the photos. I don't know that they are worth the money. I do enjoy them when someone gives them to me as a gift!

I've always been tempted to buy cause they do look so good.

Well, last Christmas SIL sent us a sampler and man o' man did she get ripped off. I looked it up in the catalog and she paid $40 for about $10 of food. The stuff was so tiny - way way way over priced for what you get. As PP mentioned they manage to make a molehill look like a mountain in those photos.

And I don't think it was all that fresh. It had the same texture as the day old stuff you get at the grocery store or bakery. For that kind of money I'd go with Harry & David or Dancing Deer Baking Co.

I have to agree with the PP's who stated that the pastries were small compared to what they looked like in the catalog. As for the taste, they always tasted a little stale and not nearly as good as they looked. When I was a teenager my Aunt used to send our family a box each year for Christmas and we always told her it was wonderful because we just didn't have the heart to tell her they were not so great. She was in her late 70's/ early 80's and thought that The Swiss Colony Catalog was fabulous and such a treat.

I highly recommend Harry and David for sending to family far away. Still pricey, but delicious and the food is not half the size it looks in the catalog...plus, you can always find some sort of coupon! I usually order between Veteran's Day and Cyber Monday(seems to be when the best sales are) and have it delivered for Christmas.
