Is anyone else starting to get a little nervous about this? Our trip is in a few weeks and I am starting to get worried.

As long as you don't do this, you should be fine...........:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Awesome picture!! I wouldn't recommend doing that under any circumstances!

In all honesty, I'm not concerned. Many thousands die each year from the flu and no one bats an eye. Because this is a "new, unheard of" strain, it seems to have the whole world in an uproar. It has the same symptoms as any other flu! So, really, how long has it been spread around and no one gave it any mind until now?:confused3

In all reality, just use common sense. Wash hands, use sanitizer, wipes, etc.
There are germs everywhere...wash and move on to the next fun thing on your list!

Each year about 300,00 to 500,000 people get the flu. Of that approximately 36,000 die, Now any number of people dieing from any reason, (except extreme old age) is a shame, but to get so excited over this is ridicules.

We use precautions whenever we're at WDW any time. All those people from all over the planet, crammed in a relatively small space... it's like a giant germ stew if you think about it. :scared1:

We just
....wash hands often (especially before eating)
...avoid railings/door handles as much as you can (funny sight seeing us open doors with our elbows)
... carry a little bottle of antibacterial gel
... don't touch your face!

Our trip isn't until November, but if it were now, we'd still be going.

That said, if I had young kids or anyone in my family with health issues, I might reconsider. :confused3

I'm going in 10 days. Honestly not too terribly worried despite the latest "diagnosis" of it in WDW. just bring along hand sanitizer and keep fingers and hands out of mouths and eyes.

The normal flu kills nearly 26,000 a year yet that's not an epidemic/pandemic/whatever all this fuss is about.

Considering there are more cases where I live than there are in Florida...nope, I wouldn't worry about it. In fact...I think I should go on your trip to get out of here!

This will get really bad and everyone should evacuate WDW and The Fort by 1:00pm May 17. It will be safe to return after 11:00am May 25.:cloud9::sick:

Since the media can't get everyone stirred up with the economy or wall street's poor performance anymore, the flu came around just in time. Panic = ratings. Want a list of far more virulent diseases with a higher mortality rate that pose a greater risk? Seriously - unless you are very young, very old and/or immuno compromised, this flu will cause little more than a few days of fever, aches and a generally crappy feeling. Your best defense is washing your hands. Those masks they are handing out in Mexico are a joke - the pore size is much larger than a viral particle and won't prevent anything. You can get the flu staying home from vacation by going to the mall, the grocery store, the post office, work, the gas station - you name it. The panic the media is creating is a greater risk than the flu and the media should be strung up for spreading it.

We were just there last weekend, and we don't have the flu. The week before Memorial Day, which we are going to the ft. for, We are flying to NY and I am more nervous about getting on the plane, don't want to get sick and not be able to make MM.

This is right up there with global warming caused by humans. Its bureaucrats trying to justify their existence by using scare tactics.

I so agree with you. Its something like 30,000 people die each year from the regular flu and how many have died from this strand? Come on. Is this another scare tactict? Well it's not working for me. Disney or Bust in 26 days baby!!! WOOO HOOOO :hippie:
