Hey yarl
Hope everyone is ok :)
Me and my family booked a holiday for Mexico this year. We are canceling it *** of this swine flu.
What do people think about Florida? Will it hit there?
We were going to go to Florida from the start, but thought we might try out some place else.
Wb
xx.

i heard there were two cases in california D:

Are you serious? :|
Oh no..
I heard on the News before that there's 2 people from Scotland that have just came back from Mexico. There in hospital *** they have just came bk from there and have the swine flu like symptoms..

:(

This annoys me. And upsets..

Listen just be careful. I would not cancel my trip anywhere. Just be safe, wash your hands, use hand sanitizer. Basic things like this will protect you. There's been about 11 cases, think of this like the bird flu and all the hype that surrounded that. There's nothing to worry about right now. Just be smart.

Like TinkerTracy said, just be safe, wash you hands and all that.
There was a swine flu outbreak in the 70's and everybody was just fine.
Don't worry, and I don't exactly see why you would cancel a vacation because of it...
Its not like millions of people have it...
there are billions of people in the world, and out of those billions not a lot have it, so don't worry about it.

She should cancel vacation in mexico tho. That is like ground zero basically.

Going to Mexico?
Sorry, I take no chances. I'll keep my butt planted firmly in my home, not going off to Mexico. There has not been only 11 cases in Mexico, try hundreds with at least (at the time I saw) 86 people dead. Canada has also confirmed cases as well as Kansas and NYC, with suspected cases as far away as New Zealand.

I'd be careful with washing hands anywhere, but you could not pay me enough to be in Mexico right now.

ETA: The CDC has also confirmed it as a medical emergency. Nope, still not taking any chances. Also, many of those who have died were "young", which is eerily reminiscent of the Spanish Flu in 1918. No chances - play it safe. Am I paranoid? Probably. But do I want to stay the healthiest I can? Absolutely.

they want my dad to go on a business trip to mexico D:

no way jose

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I'm sooooooo scared. I'm just going to stay in my house and fear all of the living.:scared1: ...Fail.

I was sick 2 weeks ago with the 'flu'. Low grade fever, body aches, and general malaise which lead into a horrible cough that lasted about a week. I now have a stuffy nose that is either related to this OR its allergies. But to the good thing is, is that I don't feel bad.

I'm not too worried about this. Frankly, you just need to follow the universal precautions (hand washing, ect) and keep an eye on the news. Thankfully we have a government who is watching out for us! (and I'm glad because that is their job!)

I'm very paranoid about this stuff. I'm really worried, because I have a sore throat and low fever (99.3) and I think I might be getting it :scared1:

I am worried, but I believe, is it not more of a problem for children and seniors?
It's one of those things, it aggrivates pre-existing conditions and makes you more prone to get the pneumonia. It's still a threat, and I'm worried. I've been sneezing all day but I'm hoping it's form dust and spices at work. But for some reason, I feel a little bit less worried as it says it's potentially deadly. It doesn't mean I'll necessarily die from it if I catch it. I don't think anyways...
Lovely, two confirmed cases in Nova Scotia.. live right near there..
I heard from my father that they do have drugs to help fight it off (not cure, help fight off). But I don't know where he got the information from. I'll be using my neighbour as a source, as he's a health inspector and he's just spent the entire weekend working. They're busy checking anything that's coming into Canada via Mexico.

I wouldn't doubt that it's going to spread fast. You have cases on the West Coast of the US & the East coast. Mexico is beneath it and has cases. Canada is above it and has cases.
It's kind of unavoidable.

It's mainly infecting children and young adults.

First off... i love underoath...
Second.. Im sooo glad, cuz i thought i was the only one paranoid of this stuff! I agree with others, i would cancel mexico, and there have been no cases in FL so far.. but it can develop. It is not a pandemic, and we just need to be careful...I dont think that we should be worried, but i wont be taking any chances.

No, and that's what's alarming about this flu. Normal influenza will hit children and seniors faster, this one hits young adults first. As did the 1918 influenza.
That's why I'm worried.

Second, the only thing that I recall being able to work so far is Tamiflu, which also works for the regular flu. Not sure if anything else has been working though.

its not good can you say eugenics. if im not mistaken disney used to fund things like that. they gave millions to the nazi party on record.

The CDC recommends oseltamivir or zanamivir to help aid the flu become milder and help you get well quicker.

I'll just have to keep washing my hands frequently, drinking lots of fluids, try to eat healthier and try to get more exercise.
I'm not usually prone to catching colds or the regular flu, I haven't had a cold or anything since Jan 08, which only last for a couple of days.
I'll keep myself worried, I just don't wanna become obsessed with it.
