Where is the best place to get Disney swimwear, in particular UV protection type, in Orlando? Anyone know if the Rashguard swimwear that Disney sells has Uv Protection?

Finally, if I buy the swimwear now, where's a good place to buy swimwear that has UV Protection for a good price?

Thanks!

I can't answer your question, but what's the purpose of UV protection on swimwear? Do people normally get burnt under their swimsuit? I know that I don't. :confused3

UV light gets through your clothes which can cause damage to skin. Ds and Dd both have skin conditions and need to have certain body parts (ds his stomach and thighs, dd her shoulders and chest) always protected. I could slather them wih sunscreen several times a day requiring them to take off their clothes, or I can put these on them. With a 3 and 4 yr old, I prefer these items.

Plus, you can buy boys the long or short sleeved rashguard UV shirts to go with their trunks...hence, no sumscreen required on torso and arms

I have PLE (Polymorphous Light Eruption) which is like a sun allergy, and must wear sun protective clothing. I recommend Coolibar and Sunprecaution for online sales. Coolibar is less expensive.

Check your Costco. We were just there on Friday and they had new Disney bathing suits with matching swim shirts. I think the sets were $19.99. I saw Mickey (pirate), Cars, and Nemo, and I think there were more choices.

I've purchased rash guards at scuba.com and at sports authority.

I'm not sure if sports authority has them in this time of year or not.
I also believe they have rash guards at
thelifeguardstore.com.

I'm not sure if your looking for disney themed ones or ones to be worn at disney.

I think one of the ladies at the gym mentioned that sam's club that they had them in already. However, I don't know if all of them carry the same merchandise at the same time, since I don't shop there.

You can get long sleeve and short sleeve versions.

While Landsend is not exactly cheap, they have great SPF swimwear. The rash guards this year are really cute and they have both long and short sleeved. Good luck!

Ahh, I get it, I didn't realize they were swimsuits that cover more than a traditional one piece bathing suit or swimtrunks cover :thumbsup2

Curious, are they uncomfortable (i.e. make you overheated) in hot weather?

Thanks so much! I will definetly check out all those links. I also found that One Step Ahead also carries a line for both babies and toddlers. Not much selection but definetly more childish patterns. But still looking as they didn't suit my kids' personalities. I'm not looking for specific Disney but just something for them to wear at Disney.

keishashadow, my ds does not complain at all. He is not warmer as we wear it in the cold indoor pool and he still shivers. hehe. At it is sooo nice that he looks like he is wear a shirt and t-shirt when we get out of the pool and don't have to slip a coverup on. And they dry soooo fast!

Thanks so much for all the replies!
