Question on behalf of my fiance.

Some sources have said it's best for females to wear a one-piece on the big slides.

My fiance only owns, and prefers, TWO-PIECE suits.
Are those OK on the water slides??

they are fine on the waterslides - however just be warned - she might be giving everyone a bit of a show if she isn't careful! ;)

especially on the BIG slide

Agree with above poster. She will have to be careful as a number of people with two pieces have provided free showings. Tell her before she hits the water to cross her arms holding shoulders and everything should stay in place. However, she may get a wedgie on the high speed slides but most do anyway.

Well, my uncle goes to WDW rather often with his girlfriend and when he found out we might be trying a water park he begged, borrowed and pled us to leave all two piece swimsuites at the hotel when we visit. He said he is sick of getting free shows and one time he came up from the BIG slide with a swimsuite top on his head. For her sake and the sake of all the people there with families please tell her to leave the two peice at the hotel for the trip or at least bring a change as I have been told there are some people that leave half the suite at the park because it is kinda hard or embarassing to get it back. It really is up to her but I would not recommend it.

Then here's a question: if wearing a one piece is such a great idea, then fine but, where do you find one that doesn't look like it was meant for grandma? There is no way my 16 year old size 5 daughter would wear any of the one piece suits I've seen lately. Nor would I, for that matter. Anybody know where to find stylish one piece suits in small sizes?

why not go for a "tank-ini"?

it's a 2 piece...but the top piece comes down pretty far...almost to your navel.

the "tankini" top is alot more secure than most bikini tops.

and really - if you are that worried about going on the few slides that MIGHT cause your suit top to come flying off...why not wear a fitted tank top or tee-shirt (knotted of course at your rib cage or so) over your bathingsuit?

You may want to have her read this thread.

Sorry EmmasGrammy but this was the best thread I have read. I spit my drink all over my computer when I read it. :hyper: :hyper:

Edit for spelling

I would try the Victoria's Secret Website. You'd probably find something there.

ditto.

and she WAS wearing a one piece!

omg...that's totally something that would happen to my mother! So sorry EmmasGrammy...but that was too funny!

Hey this is Emmasgrammy popping in here. (I knew when I shared this story so long ago it would come back to haunt me over and over again!) I indeed was wearing a one piece suit, but it wasn't securely fastened around my neck! The force of the water on those slides should not be under estimated!!! I would definately recommend a one piece suit. They have really cute one piece suits out there everywhere. I personally, could never buy one at Vickie's Secret, (I could probably buy 3 or 4 and sew them togther in order to fit me!!! LOL) but they do have some cute suits. I have also seen cute suits at Target and Kohl's for you thinner gals!!

What ever you decide to wear, hold on for dear life. Those slides are tons of fun!!!

Rides to look out for @ BB w/ 2 piece suit:
Summit Plumit, Slush Gusher, snow stormers.

I got to lifeguard @ BB for a few weeks on my college program and I was able to experance the "swim suit malfunctions" on these particular rides:earseek:

after going on the waterslides a couple times, my 15 year old said her back killed from how the bathing suit tied in the back. And yes, both girls got major wedgies the first time they went down. They both ended up with basic one piece bathing suits UNDER a t-shirt and shorts. Saved the skin and the free shows.

Try getting one of those seats some days at the end of the big slides to wait for your families' braver members. Sometimes you can't, because they are full of young & old men just waiting for the next two piece suit.

EmmasGrammy - you are one very brave (and funny) lady to tell that story. I was laughing (crying) so hard I kept losing my place. I am sharing with our relatives we meet there every year.

Been to both parks several times and ALWAYS in a one piece. I would rather be alittle less stylish than have my girls flying out all over the place. :Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc

I've been to both water parks wearing a two piece. No matter what swim suit you wear, you're gonna get a major wedgie on rides like Summit Plumit & Slush Gusher. Just cross your arms over your chest to keep the top in place and look around before standing up after the ride. ;)

I wore a one piece swimsuit when I took my kids to a water park years ago. The suit did not fit real tight. When I went off the slide and into the water the pressure from hitting the water pulled the top part of my bathing suit off. What a show those people had. So be smart also in what type of one piece swimsuit you wear.

I too wear a one piece with shorts and a small t shirt following my embarrasing moment. I once had a strap snap off as I was climbing into one of the tubes on the lazy river. I also have to point out that I must be the only "tube impaired" person in the universe . I always have a tough time climbing aboard these things, while everyone else just plops on floats away. When I try the plop thing, the darn tube always gets away from me.

I'm so glad everyone is discussing about what proper swimwear for the water park. DH & I went took my little cousin to a water park in PA (Dorney Park) and there was family where one of the women were walking around in a black lace BRA!!! It was a bra, not a sexy bathing suit, a bra.

And that was not too pleasant to experience and I'm glad everyone going to DISNEY has more sense than that! Kudos to Disney visitors!!!

Check at newportnews.com. They have nice one-pieces, tankinis and they also carry bigger sizes.

My DD wore a two piece Monday with no problem. It is a well fitted one - not a string bikini! We didn't do Summit Plummet but we did everything else - and believe me - it doesn't matter what kind of suit it is - you WILL get a wedgie! I had on a Land's End shorts type tanktini, she had a two piece and my mother had a regular one piece and we were ALL pulling our suits out of our cheeks!!!

we've seen a few of the "accidents" over the years at the water parks and the vast majority of them seemed to involve the 2-piece variety of swimsuit...the best advice is too make sure to keep your arms crossed over the chest and keep your legs crossed at the ankles...this will lessen the chance of a playmate moment and significantly reduce the wedgie factor...
