My daughter has seen a mermaid doll that swims underwater, advertised on Nick, Jr. Does anyone know the name of the doll or have any comments about it?

Thanks in advance! :santa:

OK, I'm not sure it's either of these, but the commercials I've seen with swimming mermaid dolls is Shimmering Lights Ariel (the Little Mermaid) which is advertised as swimming under water in the commercial but I've heard you really shouldn't put her in water. The other commercial I've seen with a swimming mermaid doll is a Barbie doll series named Mermaidia. HTH :thumbsup2

I got the shimmering lights Ariel for my dd3 for christmas along with the carriage thing. There is no way you can but this ariel in the water it will not sing anymore if you do.

My daughter has some mermaida dolls. They do go in the water but they don't swim by themselves. I think they do change colors.

What you are looking for is the Storytime Collection Swimming Little Mermaid. It is currently on sale at Amazon

I hope this helps - my daughter wants it too!

I just bought the swimming storytime mermaid at Target (on sale for $14.99 this week). The one on Amazon.com does not look the same.

Apparently, there are two Storytime Little Mermaid dolls and only one of them swims. The Amazon one looks like the one that does not swim. The product description says it swims, but I would try to verify this. I think either they have the wrong item photo or the description is wrong.

I have read the reviews for this doll on TRU website and the reviewers said once you put it in water it stops working.

Hmmm! thanks for the info. I, too read the reviews on TRU. We may have to skip this one!

We have the one that is at Target, called Storytime and it works fine. It is not the shimmering lights Ariel! The one at Target is the commercial that shows her really swimming on TV.

We have the Shimmering Lights Ariel. It does not swim by itself by my DD does regulalry use it in the tub. After being in the tub sometimes it does not work for a while and then it starts working again. It ususally works in the water but sometimes it gives out for a while. When she got it as a gift I wasn't sure if she sould be allowed to use it in the tub and I looked at the manufacturers website and it said in the description that it could...so we did! She loves the doll!
