We are staying at CBR in October. I would love to swim in the local pool (not the main one) but I won't wear a bathing suit. In fact I'd rather clean dumpsters with my tongue than appear in public in a suit.:scared1:

I was hoping to be able to wear a pair of longer shorts and a T-shirt-(with proper undergarments of course). Are there any posted rules about this or might this be acceptable? I haven't been swimming in 15 years and would like to give it a try.

Thanks,
Sherry

sorry the signs say swimming suites.

Disney use to have some for the larger women - but they did away with that style or designer.

Lands End has all kinds of suits that cover. They even have swim shorts.

Just this morning I ordered a swimsuit for our pooh sized future DIL. She wanted to swim in shorts as well but I had heard before that guests must wear proper swim wear while using Disney pools. At junonia.com they have swim shorts complete with built in panty that cover all the way to the tops of your knees. They are swimsuit material and are very nice. Get a full coverage swim top and you'll look like you're wearing clothes. I feel your pain. I don't wear swim suits in public either and haven't for years.

I wear a bathing suit underneath a pair of swim shorts (quick drying material) that are baggy and go to almost my knee with either a big tank top or a tee-shirt over it. I've never had a problem. Do something like that and you'll be fine! :thumbsup2

I got mine from LL Bean... they show them here for $15.95. I think I got mine for $10. They even show swim capris. :)

My mom always wears a one piece woman's swimsuit with a pair of men's swim trunks and a t-shirt over it. She's swam in that outfit at almost every resort pool and all the water parks for years and years and nobody's ever said anything about it at all.

I too wear men's swim trunks with a pooh size bathing suit tank. Complete coverage!:thumbsup2 I got my swim tank at Land's End and my men's trunks at JC Penney. The swim trunks are way more comfortable than wearing regular shorts because the material is so lightweight that they dry really fast.

my wife where shorts at the pool all the time none ever said a word to her ..we go to disney 3 to 4 times a year for 8 years now and never a word said to her

Thanks guys for all of the web sites! I don't like wearing revealing swim suits in public either, so I'm going to check out these sites.

I wear a one piece as I'm not of the (skinny) body type to wear a bikini. And thanks to lycra, I can still wear the same suit I've had for years... even though I've gained weight since then...:thumbsup2

Sears and Jcpenney's also sell tank suits with shorts. You can also buy a swimsuit cover much like a dress to wear over a swimsuit.

I've never heard of 'proper attire' for the pools.

My experience has been that shorts and a t-shirt for the publicly shy are fine.

Personally.. I'm more 'Jafar' shaped and kinda boney.. so I tend to wear a t-shirt (dry fit @ the pool) at all times.. :) Nobody has ever said anything to me.

Yep! I have the swim shorts and coordinating top from JC Penney and I think it looks waaay better on me rather than a one piece swim suit. I hate my thighs! I'm working on it though, so maybe by next summer....but I doubt I'll lose my modesty!

I always wear a t shirt over my bathing suit,,,, I do recomend a bathing suit underneath, I think that would be more comfortable as the t shirt is going to get super clingy

I always wear t-shirts and shorts to the pools. I am not about to wear anything to the pool that shows off anything more of me than I am comfortable with showing off. I have never had anyone take issue with my choice of swim attire. I have seen several others in the same swim attire at Disney pools, so I don't think you will experience any trouble. Maggie

That's been my experience. I think I've seen it all at WDW. Shorts and t-shirt would be fine.

I've worn a t-shirt over my suit plenty of times (I burn like a lobster) and never had a problem.

As for my bottom, I use a swim short, a swim skirt or a men's board short. Most men's bathing suits these days don't have the attached "underwear" so they are quite comfortable for ladies to wear with a regular swim bottom or over a one piece.

My experience at the CBR quiet pools is that if there are two other people there besides my family it's a lot and no lifeguard so I don't think you would run into anyone that would complain. I've never seen any rules about attire posted but honestly never looked too hard. If it is against the rules these options should make you comfortable without breaking them.
