We are headed to Disney this weekend and staying at the GF. We have planned to have Saturday as a no park day and enjoy hanging around and visiting the resorts. Are the pools heated enough to feel good in 70-75 degree weather? We've never had a down day at Disney and are looking forward to enjoying the pool - I hope it won't be too cold. We are from the deep south and think our pool is cold until the water is about 85 degrees! Wimps?

I'm sorry to say, but I feel the same way it's gotta be at least 85 degrees before I swim. Personally I've not found a pool in the winter warm enough for me to swim, my kids are a diffrent story. Good luck.

They heat the WDW pools to 82 degrees. I think once you are actually in the water and swimming around it would feel fine, but getting back out is what will be difficult! I will see for myself tomorrow ~ and I'll see just how fast I can run back to my chair for my towels! hahaha

NicoleMarie,

We just returned yesterday from a 4 night stay at the Poly after a 4 night cruise on the Wonder. They have 2 pools (Quiet Pool and Volcano Pool). Both are heated, but, the Quiet Pool was 'more heated'. Swimming in the Volcano pool would have been pleasant during the day, but, it was a bit chilly for the evenings (air temp was high 50's/low 60's). The Quiet Pool was wonderful on those chilly evenings, however. I would think you'd be fine, especially during the day.

Yes the pools are heated but we have found that while it may feel good while you are swimming, once you get out it is quite chilly. Then the walk back to the room is even worse. But not being from the north where it is always cold, we are probably less accustomed to the chill.

Thanks for the info! I guess we will pack the swim suits and see how it goes! Either way, we are excited to be there!!

We go to DW all the time in Nov. It can be chilly for a swim, but that doesn't stop my kids from jumping in. As long as they are in the pool they are fine, but when they get out I make sure I have plenty of towels and dry clothes for them to put on right away.

we just got back from animal kingdom lodge this past weekend & went swimming multiple times, the pools are heated & if its to cool for you head to the hot tub. enjoy!

The pools are kept pretty warm, but as other posters said, it can be really cool heading back to your room. We like to run from the pool to the hot tub before going up to the room. A few minutes in the hot tub can make a big difference. If it is too cold, we just skip the pool altogether and head for the hot tub. One thing we did notice was dramatic changes in the hot tub temps from day to day/ time of day? It also becomes less desireable to use the pool slides in cooler weather. The areas at the top of the slides can be breezy, and if there is a line, it is no fun standing there wet and cold. Once you are on the slide it's not too bad though.
