What do you think about swimmnig in Nov? How are the pools and water parks? The Beach?

Of course it depends on the weather, but the pools are heated and it's generally pretty comfortable. We'll be in the pools during the first week in Nov.

We swam the first few days of our trip last Nov./Dec. It was very warm for the first few days and the water felt great. I am hoping for the same weather for our Dec. trip this year. Towards the end of our trip last year there is no way I would have swam. It got pretty chilly. The weather is so crazy at that time of year. I know lots of people say that they swim no matter what the temp. The pools are heated, but you still have to get out of the pool. :scared1:

Honestly, it depends on where you are from and what you consider cool. While we did live in Chicago for five years we are still southerners. Folks say the pools are heated, but mostly they just warm them up slightly. They are never as warm as I would need for them to be to swim when the air temperature is cool (anything below 80 degrees, particularly with a little breeze blowing, is cool to me.) Last year we did get in the outside hot tub on Christmas Eve at WLV. My kids jumped into the pool for a few minutes but it didn't last long. No way would we ever do a water park in the late fall and winter months, you have to stand in line wet, but many folks do it. My kids would be blue! Bring the suits, but don't count on having a nice relaxing swim.

We *will* be going to the water parks in December, since we missed 'em last time we went. Hoping for some balmy days!! :D

Another thing to remember. If the high temp for the day is, say, 75 degrees. That means that for a couple of minutes at the HOTTEST part of the afternoon it will hit 75. MOST of the day, and particularly the early morning and late afternoon/evening hours it will be much cooler than that. When folks say "it was 80 degrees when we were there" (and that would be pushing it for November) that may have been the high one day, but it may not have been consistently that warm. Of course, many of you northerners think 70 is HOT, it's all relative!

Check the weather.com site. Even the RECORD HIGHS for December are not what most folks call "balmy."

We have been in Nov many times and always swim. The pools are heated and we have always been comfortable. We do save the swimming for the middle of the day when it is the warmest! We'll be there this Nov and will be swimming!

Hi! :wave2:

Last December my Husband and 3 boys (10,8,5) enjoyed the pool at Animal Kingdom Lodge during our vacation. I would have jumped in, but i'm usually cold in the summer so I didn't risk it. :p

We have been several times in November. My DD and DH have swam everytime we're there. As someone stated the pools are heated. My family have been in the pool while I'm sitting in a chair all rapped up freezing and drinking hot choc. They say as long as you stay in the pool it's almost like a hot tub.

We swam most evenings (as in, after the 3 pm parade) at POR in the quiet pool near the Oak Grove room block last year during the first full week of Nov. We made sure to take our bathrobes. I had intentionally packed a bathrobe for DD3 and myself (yeah, they took up space, it was worth it) so we could enjoy the heated pool withgout freezing when we got out. It was fine. DH had NOT brought a bathrobe, he tended to sprint back to the room!

One day we spent the early afternoon by the Old Man Island pool and it was a great day for swimming and sunning and hanging out wet.

We've enjoyed the pools every November except for 2000 (I think) when it was too cold to even think about it. I've come in late in the evening and seen the pools packed with little kiddies even though it's cooler but they don't seem to mind because the pools are so beautifully heated. I am going to use the tip to take our bathrobes. We don't usually make it to the water parks, so can't help you there. I hope you have a wonderful trip!
