We are staying at The Swan/Dolphin in January 2018. Should I be leaving room in my plans to swim in the afternoon? We usually do that, but we also usually come in October when we think it is HOT (we live in Utah). Research shows the average high is 71. Is that swimming weather there? Thanks!

The weather can vary wildly in January. I, personally, won’t go swimming if it’s under 80 degrees. I’ve been to Disney twice in January, and there was only one day where it was borderline warm enough to swim (and there were a few people in the pool that day). There was also a day where we woke up and the wind chill was 36. Not even close to swimming weather.

the pools are heated, so people swim in all kinds of weather. Personally, it's gotta be 80 out for me to get in a pool. On our last january trip we had several "swimmable" days and several "too cold" days. I wouldn't plan a daily dip, but would expect that you could swim if you were so inclined. I always check the forecast right before we leave.

I was at the Boardwalk this past January for marathon weekend. The first part of our trip, the pools were open, but the last couple days we were there, they closed down the main feature pool due to the cold temperatures.

We are from Wisconsin and we always swim on our December/January vacations. Just make sure to bring warmups for the walk to/from the pool.
