I've been checking out the weather in Orlando - we'll be there in only 10 days. With the highs in the upper 60s/lower 70s, should we pack bathing suits? The pool areas sound great, but it seems like it will be too cool. Anyone with experience & advice out there?

We will be at WDW in less than a week!! :cool1: Yay!

I've been checking the future forecasts to see how the weather is going to be next week. It looks pretty good so far!

We are planning to swim if the temperatures are in the high 60's/low 70's. Of course, we are from Michigan, so any type of warm weather will draw us to the pool!

I've read that the pools are heated. My biggest concern, is whether it will be warm enough to spend a day at Blizzard Beach. Even if the pools are heated, the air temperature may be too cool to spend a day in and out of the water.

I would definitely pack your swimsuits! Let's hope for warm weather! :sunny:

It really depends on the day to day temp that the forecast doesn't reflect correctly. Normally each cycle it warms up enough to swimm a day or two before the next front comes through, so I would pack my swim suit but you can't count on it, however it is more likely than not that you'll get that day when it comes take advantage of it because it can go away very quickly with a day of clouds and light rain from the next front, the temperature may still be 70 but 70 and sunny is different than 70 and cloudy/overcast /rainish Hope that helps.

PS It's really warm here today if your here now you could swim at disney :cool1:

We were there in January with similar temps. Kids still went in the pools (adults didn't). Never made it to BB, too chilly. :(

Thanks so much for the info. It is a big help. I'll just throw in the suits, and keep my fingers crossed.

In Feb 2004, we swam everyday and went to Blizzard Beach! The best time to go to a water park is on a cloudy, cool day. The water is warm and there is no one there!

We're packing the suits!!! if its cooler we'll be in the hot tub!!
But since we're leaving the coming snow this week, and freezing temps, its gonna be warmer there, so we will probably swim....

If you are at the WL... look for the two crazy adults swimming if it is "cold" out. :Pinkbounc

I agree, it is way colder up here and I have spent most of my winter in various skating rinks watching my kids play hockey, so we are packing the suits and enjoying any weather over 32!! :rotfl2:

Single digit dance...

Hey there. We will be there in a few days and WE are bringing our suits, with the hope that the kids and I will enjoy a few pool days. DH likely won't swim, no matter what the temperature is!

Dancing with you!! :cool1:

I think it should be okay I would pack my bathing suits. I live about 2-3 hrs from Disney depending on the driving and it has been cool in the morning but warming up nicely by afternoon...we have been wearing shorts and tanning out by the pool- I already have a nice Florida tan, but there is that chance another front will come through and cool things off again. At 70 it may seem a little warmer also if the :sunny: is out.

tubachick,

Do you play the tuba? I am asking because my screen name is bassoongirl and I play the bassoon (just for fun!).

It looks like we will be at WL at the same time you are there. You will probably see us at the pool too. There is no way to keep my kids (DD-13 and DS-10) out of the pool! I hope we will have beautiful, sunny weather!! :sunny:

Have a great trip!

Yes I do, since 87 --- but only play now at the holidays with our school band ( the band teacher never has a tuba player --- so I'm it)

Hope you have a good trip!! See you in the pool!!

We returned yesterday and spent some time each day at our pool at OKW. The water was fairly warm, but I am unsure if it was actually heated. I stayed mostly in the hot tub! :smooth: We arrived on 2/1 and the sun was not really out for long periods of time all week. I did get a little "glow", but nothing major. The temps were high 60s, low 70's.

We were just there and it was too cold for us to want to swim but we saw people swimming. I say bring your suit and judge when you get there. Florida weather can fluctuate a lot. Have fun! :goodvibes

my DD6 went swimming for 2 hrs. last night after 6 pm. Alhtough, the news said another cold front will be coming through. Pack for warm and cold - we had both temps. while we were there. :earsboy:
