January and February can be anywhere from hot to freezing cold. There is no pattern and no predictability. We have been there in January and early February and have had weather so cold the gardeners had to pull out the frozen plants. And we had weather that was really warm and we wore tank tops and shorts.
We were there February 5 -11, 2013 and went swimming three of the days. But it was only in the 70's, so we didn't stay in the water for a long time. The hot tub felt great, though. It turned cold after we left, so we felt very lucky that we had a warm period.
May is a great month for swimming.
