Swimming in December?

My Latin blood doesn't handle swimming if it's less than 80 out. We have two sets of plans for our off day (Dec 6-13 trip). If it's warm, daytime at the pool, GF for decorations and chef Mickeys for dinner. If it's cold, Ohana for brunch, GF, and DS.

But it could be 25. December 2010 people remember it well. Wasn't even winter yet; was early December. Brr.

If it gets truly cold they'll close the pools entirely. Jan 2014 or 2015 pools were closed for at least part of marathon weekend because of the cold.

Remember 12/2010 very well

It was my first trip to Disney ever. 27 degrees at 7pm in MK

Rode carousel of progress 5 times in a row

Rest of week was in 40-50's

No swimming that year but we usually get 1 or 2 days in pool during our yearly trip in November

Me, too! Second week in December, 2010. Watching Illumination with headband around my ears, long fleece jacket with hood up, gloves. Two years later, same time I relaxed in the Pop pool after 10:00 at night. I really miss being able to use the pools after the parks close!

November 2013 was very cool (50's/low 60's) but we still managed one brief, chilly swim in our offsite resort pool. January/February 2016 was mid 70's to low 80's, and we swam at the Poly pool every day of our trip. Upcoming trip in December 2016 falls between our two previous experiences and we are planning for all contingencies!

I was just wondering the same thing. We lived in Florida for a year but it was Northern Florida so not quite the same. I'm so glad I stumbled on this post.
