swimming in dec.

Good morning everyone. I hoping someone can give me some info on a very minor question. If we go to wdw the first week of december, realisticaly how likely is it that the kids will be able to use the pools? Is warm enough or comfortable enough lets say ,to sit at the pool and or swim as it is in April or will the pools be pretty much unusable.

The pools are heated, so being in the water would be very comfortable. Now, when you get out of the pool may be a different story!

The weather in Florida is almost always pretty mild that time of year (unless a freak cold front comes through!!) so, I would think that it would be just fine to enjoy the pools at Disney!

I've been down to WDW three times now at the time of year. Twice it was fine for swimming. Once it was so chilly that the kids had steam coming off them as they got out of the pools. No way would you find me in the water if there was steam coming off it!!! But, for the most part early Dec is okay for swimming. We usually swim a couple times during each visit at that time. And since you're from NE, you probably will think it's balmy then anyway!!!

Florida weather can vary a great deal at that time of year. As others have said, you often can swim, but there is also the possibility of it being darn right cold. It is hard to predict!

Yep.
in 2004...I was there the first week of december - wore shorts, went swimming, spent a day at a water park, came home with a tan.

my coworker went the week after me - she wore pants, sweatshirt, gloves all week. (and for a new englander to wear gloves in Florida - it's gotta be COLD!)

but then again...we've been in january and my DH has been the only one in the AKL pool at night swimming!

so really - it's hit or miss sometimes!

Thats pretty much wat I expected but DH isn't looking forward to walking around in a coat and hat. YOur right though compared to NE weather in Dec anything will feel balmy! Have a nice day!
