Can my kids wear them when they slide down at the Doubloon Lagoon? They are 2 and 4. It's the swim vest and the swimsuit that has the built in rubber tubes (one that can only be blown up by the air pump at the gas station).

If not, I need to know so I can buy them the swim suites with the soft padded floaties attached to the suit. Thanks! I want to go prepared!

I don't know if they are allowed on slides but I just wanted to mention that we used this suit last summer when my DD was 2 1/2 and we all loved it. She felt very confident in the water and was able to "swim" a bit using her arms and legs (of course no face in the water!!).

I'll be interested to see if they are allowed as she still fits into the suit and she'll probably still be using it when we go in Nov.

Thanks Linda! We love this suits and vest! Yes, the kids can float and their heads does not touch the water! We used this last year at ASMo. It was stress free for me, I didn't want to hold them all the time whenever we swim, so this is great buy!

Now that we are staying at POFQ, we would like to use the slide and I want my kids to use their suit/vest from last year, that's why I asked. I hope they can use them while sliding down, I hate to buy another type of floaties. I don't know how good are the floaties at the POFQ. I'm assuming that they are all the same. Actually, my kids did try them at ASMo, but for some reason, they couldn't get a good balance in the water, so thier face sometimes hit the water.

Anyone out there know if this is allowable? Thanks!

Would love to add a warning with these suits. My DD used one at a lake when she was about 3. She went out to about her waist(feet still on the bottom). She leaned forward to get something in the water and she flipped over. She was not able to turn herself upright. Thank God we were close enough to be able to grab her but the suit can lure you into a false sense of security. Needless to say it was very frightening for all of us. My DD had a fear of the water after that until she was 7. She is almost 9 now and still remembers it. I tookl the suit off her immediately and threw it away. I prefer the water wings. Not trying to be a downer, just wanted to let people know that you should ALWAYS be right next to your child no matter what floatation device they are using!

We have the inner tube/tank top swim thing too and it's great. My DS is 3 1/2 and still fits in it perfectly...

a word of the same caution though, if they should ever tumble over, it would be very hard to right themselves up...but of course we should be right there with them in case that happens....my son is very active and this has never happened, but I do know that it can...

secondly, the water wings are ok if kids know how to swim and float, but aren't quite ready to go solo...these wings can slip off or be taken off within a second, so for this reason, I've never used them with my kids....at least the inner tube cannot be taken off easily by the kids....just my .02...

Thanks for the warning wdwnutze and Lorix2 for your warning and advice. I don't even let my kids go beyond my leg length, due to because if anything happen, I can take a couple of steps and I'm right there. I don't swim so I have to be there fast to help them if needed.

The reason I don't use the wings either is because my kids don't know how to float yet and they can easy take them off or may come of by itself if they are very active in the water.

The best bet probably is the suit that has the built in foams at the front and the back and the sides too. I'm jsut wondering if they are not in balance, if the face could easy be in the water?

Back to my original question....Are the kids allowed to wear those swimwear with the built in rubber tube?? The tube is not very big or anything.

Fantasia - you're welcome! I still cannot answer you're question, I'm sorry..never been there...but I just wanted to add something about those hard foam removable type suits that you remove slowly as the child learns to swim (are we talking about the same one? looks likes small bricks all the way around inside the suit?) well, if it's the same one - YES! They can go face first if they cannot balance or a wave hits them, I found that out right away, it did nothing for my son at 2 y/o even though I was right there, it was awkward and imagine the weight of the water squeezing those hard removable styrofoam things against their bodies - it wasn't comfortable for him at all to swim in, let alone holding him in it....hope someone can answer you're question soon....good luck.

Thanks Lorix2! I think we're talking about the same swimsuit w/ built in foam. I don't think it is removable though. It is a soft foam.

If they can't slide down with the swimwear w/ built in tubes on, I guess I may just borrow two from the resort. I'll get my answer before we leave, it won't be for a while thought...

My 2 cents. The innertube vest worked great for my older DD who was a very slender baby. DD #2 however, was a quite plump child. She had so much natural flotation in her bottom that she did not stay upright in the tube. Her legs lifted up and her face went into the water. If we had not taken her out right away I'm sure she would've flipped right over like the other poster said and then they are being held upside down under water. Not a pleasant thought. We were never able to use it on her. I don't mean to alarm anyone but I don't think you should let a small child use a flotation device in the water unless you are within arm's reach.

BTW - at the water parks they have free life vests. I don't know about the resort pools. We were at ft. wilderness and the pool was not guarded. We may have let my older DD wear water wings but I cannot remember.
