Is there anywhere near WDW where we can swim with dolphins (2 adults, 2 kids)? We're going down in Aug and are looking for some different activities to do this time just in case the heat/crowds get to be too much.

Check out Discovery Cove near Sea World. It's a lot of swimming with fish, and a dolphin experience for a day. Not cheap, but it is fun. Epcot has some dort of dolphin experince, too.

I think the others, like therapy interaction, are on the coast, near the Keys.

Be prepared to fork over lots of $$ at DC. Last time we looked into it, they wanted $250 pp. That's $1000 for our family for the day. It does include lunch and I believe a week's admission to SW too so maybe not that bad if you'd be going to SW anyway.

You can't just show up. Park admission is limited and you have to have an 'appointment' for the day you go. Similar to buying a movie theater ticket, not a WDW ticket.

A coworker and neighbor both have gone, both have 3 kids, and still said it was awesome. :goodvibes

eta: If you scroll down the home page, past the cruise boards, you'll see boards for SW/DC.

Thanks, Discovery Cove looks awesome! Pricey though, and we weren't planning on doing Sea World or Busch Gardens this time (and we can get in free for military). I wish DC offered a price for only the dolphin swimming. I just can't justify spending $1000 to swim with dolphins for a 1/2 hour.

I couldn't justify spending that kind of money either. I decided when we go to disney I am going to book the dolphins in depth tour. You can get into the water and pet them and get your picture taken. That's good enough for me. It's $175 per person but with disney visa you get 15% off:thumbsup2

Exactly why we haven't done it either. Even if it was spectacular, in my eyes it's still 1/3 of a 7 nt. Disney cruise that would include all meals, snacks, non-alc. drinks and takes me to tropical islands. :cloud9:

I've gone to Discovery Cove twice and LOVED it! It is a beautiful place and worth the money because we do use the Seaworld passes for at least 5 of the 7 days so it becomes a break even point.
