We are are visiting soon from the UK, and were planning on buying our son's swim nappies in the US, rather then bringing our own supply with us. We are staying in a villa with a pool and the second week at the beach with a pool so I am sure, knowing my son, he will be in water longer then on dry land! The type of nappy I mean is a disposable nappy that is worn under normal swim shorts which is made specifically for swimming (UK version is Little Swimmers by Huggies). Could anyone tell me how easy it is to get hold of these? We will probably be doing our grocery shopping in somewhere like Walmart or an equivalent supermarket near where we are staying (Kissimee) so wont be going to any special baby shops etc. Do all these types of supermarkets sell swim nappies or would it be safer to bring our own supply?

Very easy.

They are usually in with the regular diapers/nappies in every store.

Sometimes they are around the pool stuff too.

Huggies & Pampers make them.

No problem at all, especially in Florida! Walmart has them for sure in the diaper aisle.

The nothern states are clearancing them, and can be a little tough to find.

Huggies makes "Little Swimmers" and Pampers has an equivalent.

Have fun!

You can get Little Swimmers everywhere. It would be more economical to buy cloth swim diapers, though. You can get those at Target for about the price of one oack of Little Swimmers, and you can use them over and over. Or you can buy them online. We use cloth swim diapers, and they are a big money saver since my kids swim nearly everyday.

Thankyou everybody, that's more space now in my suitcase.

What a good idea, I might look for these. How do they work?

They work the same way that Little Swimmers work. Disposable swim diapers don't hold pee in, they just hold the poo in, so pretty much any cloth diaper without a soaker pad will work. For my ds I just took a regular cloth diaper, removed the soaker pad and sewed it back up. You can buy cloth diapers just for this purpose, however. Just google cloth swim diaper and you should get lots of hits.

I just bought some swim diapers (disposable) for $3.50 for a normal size pack. (They were on sale! :cool1: )

Thanks everyone. I think I will look at the purpose made cloth swim diapers (notice the change in lingo specifically for the US boards :rotfl2: ) as I know I would be too lazy to get round to doing any sewing! Nice to know I will have Little Swimmers to fall back on (my DH always thinks I am talking about fertility when I mention that name :rotfl: )
