Swiffer wet cloths...

ever use them on your hardwood floor?

Bought some last night...they just attach to the original swiffer thingie for the floor (I'm so technical)...says it's safe on hardwood - just wondering if anyone can give me any pro/cons about it.

do I have to dry the floor with a towel or something - or does it dry down nicely?

if i don't have to lug out my hoover floormate to clean the floors, I'd be a happy woman (and honestly - I don't think the floormate is all it's really cracked up to be.)

Same here - they aren't very wet after the first few strokes. I use a couple to do the whole floor. I also use them in between good cleanings. They are great for a quick clean-up.

I was told not to use them because anything made of paper products would scratch. I use a cloth thing with elastic that I put over the bottom of the Swiffer bottom part. For cleaner I use the spray on stuff recommended by the manufacturer of my wood floors. I spray it, the wipe if with the cloth thing. The cloth thing I wash in the washer after use.

My floor has wear and tear anyway (6 years old) so I do not obsess.
Life is too short.

well our dog has basically "broken in" the floors for us.

thanks all...think I'll give these puppies a whirl...and even if they suck on the hard wood...at least they'll do the job in the bathrooms on the vinyl. hehehe

I think Swiffer wet mops at the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have hardwoods on the entire first floor, including the kitchen. Those swiffer things really wipe up good and leave the floor feeling clean, not sticky. They dry very quickly so it's not like you have puddles sitting around. And they smell good!

I'm off to clean my floors now. Thanks for the reminder

Same here...not badly....just a tad.....
