SWGE AP previews - Meet Ups

The park opens at 9 on the 17th so I think we’ll probably get to the gate at like 7:30

I'm so nervous how our morning will go! I just don't want to get stuck waiting to check in with CM's in a long line at 9am and miss out on our precious 4 hours in GE! Does anyone know what time DHS has been letting in guests for a 9am opening? I assume we will go off to the left when we are let in and hopefully be able to go to Grand Avenue easily. I hope they don't make us go with the Toy Story Land crowds!

Yeah I’m pretty nervous too. I don’t want to be at the back of the rope drop crowd since the park opens right when our time starts. I hope we can stay a little past 1 if they’re letting people in before their time. I’m wondering if we’ll even get in the land by 9

I have a 1-5 spot on the 17th. I'm going to be checking this board a lot this morning to see if they let AP holders in early like they did for the CM preview. That would be amazing!

I’m also wondering what will happen at 5. I think 1-5 was the last spot that day. If morning folks can stay all day, I hope we can stay longer too. I’m hoping they don’t clear the area right at 5.

If they let all the early people stay as long as they like it will ruin the experience for the 1-5 block people. The wait times for the ride, food and everything else will be extreme compared to the early blocks of people.

Hmm, I wonder if people will actually spend 8,9,10 hours in galaxy's edge, I know we wont be. I bet its not as many as you would think. Could the 1-5 time slot people affect that a little, sure, but every other group has overlaps (9-1, 11-3, 1-5) so i think that the 5-9 might have the same feel as the rest. Just my opinion obviously.

this actually played on my mind when I picked the first slot. There will be some people who overlap. I do not see a majority of people staying all day.
Even if I wanted to, my kids would protest and demand to go back to the pool- it is August and hot!

Very true - we may get to the gate by 7 just to be safe. We should PM each other status updates! Lol - we just booked Ogas and the Droid Depot for the 29th as well just to have that too.

Not a lot but some. I was there for 7 hours and only sat down to relax for about an hour, the rest was walking around and taking pics

I'll be there the 17th 1-5pm! I chose SR and the Cantina. I'll be solo, so if anyone wants to meet up let me know (I don't want to sit in the cantina alone lol) I'm flying down from Buffalo on the 16th, staying at POFQ and flying home the 18th.... then I'll be back 8/31-9/4 at AKL!

That sounds just like my kids. They last three hours in the park and ask when we can leave to go swimming.

Because of your post I made a reservation for November to build a droid- the pictures and write up was too convincing. For the AP- building a light saber...

I’m still a bit bummed that they aren’t offering the AP discount for the droid depot but they were allowing CM discounts. Makes me wonder if I should wait to build a droid when I go 2 1/2 weeks after my preview date to build the droid in hopes of the AP discount (frugal spender over here )

Cm and their access to pass friends and family into DHS are blocked for the next 3 months, and it will probably be extended, who knows when they'll be allowed in, so having 2 weeks of discount for these two experiences I think is more than fair. Btw the discount only 10%
