Hey Rosie! Glad you found some new flights. I thought about you the other night when they were talking on the news about jet fuel prices going up and airfares started to move up also. The limo is going to be a really cool birthday surprise for sure!

New ( Hopefully ) Plans !!!

Well I have not been around much this week cuz I have been soooo busy searching for DOABLE airfares !!! OMG how much they have gone up recently and I am to scared to wait and see
I had sorta told ya what I was thinking , but had to run it all by Judy who of course thought she could find a better fare So after about half an hour on the laptop she agreed I was right !!

This plan actually saves us about $200 and that was the selling point !!

So here it is :-
Fly out of Buffalo on the 18th YES a day early !!!We will leave around 1pm and have a layover in Atlanta on Air (sucky)Tran !!
At Orlando I plan on having a Limo pick us up and take us to the CountryInn and Suites in Kissimee , where will will spend the Night !! Cab it to Pop the next day and arrive well rested for our first Disney Day , No earaches for Judy or cranky Kyle !! Coming back we will fly SWA a direct flight around noon getting us to Buffalo by 3 ish !!

Now the Limo is a secret from the kids !!The girls are the main reason for it , another SPECIAL treat !! But if Kyle knew he would blab!!!My research for Limos led me to this company and I will have to check the name again but it;s "5" something or other and the cost for the airport Limo transportation is $92 for a white one and $80 for a Black , I was all set for white but when I mentioned colors to Judy without mentioning price she said BLACK

The Hotel looks cool has a huge pool with a slide , miniature golf etc and includes breakfast for $78 for the night

So Karin you will get to meet a rested Rosie on the 19th!!!!!!

Airfares are really scary. I'm really thinking we should book ours now for September. I was hoping to go with Mark in April for his business trip so I could spend some time with Nicki, but the flights are over $1000!

I asked about the Stats for flights and while they were not anything as great as SWA, the biggest thing was the on time thingie which going a day early wont hurt as much and we will be coming back on SWA!! Ifthe price difference for going down hadn't been so great I wouldn't have even looked at another airline !!Judy was funny she had to get on line herself to check my figures and was sure she could find something cheaper !! What is wrong woth that girl After half an hour she said YUP Mom you are right !!!

I don't think Airtran is that bad, I've flown them twice... but I would fly in the luggage for an extra day in Disney

Playing catch up! An extra day sounds great! We've always flown airtran. Our one problem turned into a positive. We were to fly from Orlando to Atlanta to Bloomington. We were flying the latest flight out and had less than an hour wait in Atlanta. When we got to the airport our flight was delayed to the point we would miss our connecting flight. We went to the desk, explained the situation, wound up with free hotel room at the airport hotel, a free flight anywhere they fly within a 12 month period, and a meal voucher. We used our free flights for our last November trip.

I do have my flight booked for august and I see my 12:20 flight has moved to 4:40. I'm sorry to lose the extra hours, but it looks like their schedule has totally changed. We looked at both nearby airports and the nonstop flight out of both airports has been moved back. If I want nonstop I lose the hours, if I want to arrive earlier I would have to switch to a one stop flight. I was gonna fly on Thursday, but moved it to Wednesday when I saw the nonstop at the other airport was only available that day. So I'm still ahead of the game.

Bottom line of my rambling??? We've always been ultimately satisfied with our airtran flights and hope you will be too.

I am just back from a 19 hour day trip to Albany for work !!!It was fun but very tiring ! I will upload some pix hopefully tomorrow !!! I am going to bed very shortly!!! Have to be a well rested Rosie for Pole Dancing ..Right Marv

I have flown Air tran a few time since they do have a direct or a 1 stop to Orlando. Never any "real" bad problems but I have also encountered teh flight changes without notification. I called and simply rebooked based on their new schedule and encountered no change fees.

I have had uglier service and issues with USAir and Delta.

Other good news for me is that Airtran only has one gate in Charlotte so I always know which gate to go to. We are A USAir hub so I could be leaving from anywhere in the airport and oh yeah I have had issues with that.
