Sweeney Todd Opinions?

I am going to see it on Thursday and I cannot wait! I know that it is rated "R" but I am going to go see it with my parents! I am so excited! Anyone else who has seen it or who wants to see it? If you have seen it what are your opinion?

I'm a big theatre geek and I looooooove Sweeney Todd the stage show. I hope the movie is as good as the show. My friend saw it and said it was amazing. She said its really disgusting and filled with blood and gore, so if you can handle that you'll like it

I saw it, and it was VERY good. I absolutely ADORE the music, and the blood really isn't that bad, it's cheesy, but still kinda gross. Have fun!

First of all, I hate Johnny Depp and all things Tim Burton, so I may be biased...


BUT, I saw it...and I thought it was...less than impressive. The songs are the LEAST catchy songs in any musical I've ever seen (but then again, Sodheim is known for that) They are just pretty much singing their words...to very basic melodies.

There is really NO reason for the film to be rated "R", there is tons of blood, but it is all VERY fake and it looks like red paint. The violence isn't all that terrifying or anything, little to no swearing, no nudity. It's just the "gore" that makes it R-Rated.

But thought it pains me to say...Depp is a surprisingly good singer.

But don't take my word for it, go see it for yourself and then you can be your own judge.

I think it was brilliant. Burton, Depp and Carter work so well together. I love the chemistry of Helena and Johnny. It was pretty predictable but I think the music was fantastic. Sure it was no hairspray but that's because the music went with the dark cast of the film.

I think they could have called it Johnny Depp kills the entire cast of Harry Potter though.

Oh and Borat was in it and I was a little skeptical about that a first but he was wonderful.

I have the soundtrack and there were certain songs that we very hard to sing. Like "Pretty Women" with Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp. I am not worried about the gore at all. I mean I have seen all of the Saw movies and nothing can compare to that. I am so surprised at how good Johnny Depp is at singing. The song "Joanna" was so touching. I so in love with the music and I hope that the film is just as good. I think that I am actually going tomorrow if the snow stops and the roads aren't slippery.

My cousins went too and they said it was really really good. I have a lot of fantastic opinions. These are from people my age to 30+ saying the movie was great.

I just don't.
His acting annoys me.
And most of his fans haven't even seen any of his other movies. (meaning anything other than POTC).
Btw, I said MOST. Not all, so don't start flaming at me, I'm not interested.
