I'm sure this is a very stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyway! :rolleyes1 We will be at WDW from 9/20-28. Should I pack sweatshirts? They would take up a lot of room in our suitcases and it'll be too warm here (Chicago) to wear them on the plane. I worry if I don't pack them, we'll need them but I'm thinking 90 degree days turn into 75 degree nights which isn't sweatshirt weather. HELP!

Thanks!:thumbsup2

No! It is very hot and humid in September.

See ya there. :)

Holy cow, no. It's often in the 90's with extreme humidity in September, only going down to the high 70's at night. I'm uncomfortable in a tank top and shorts, you couldn't get me into a sweatshirt at gunpoint. :)

I'm not bringing a sweatshirt, but I will be bringing a cardigan or two. Not so much for outside, but inside. I typically FREEZE in restaurants with the a/c.

With last year being my very first year I didn't know what to expect so I packed us each summer clothes but also each a sweatshirt and pair of jeans. Did we need them? Heck no. It was HOT!!! Not unbearable, and the evenings definetely cool off...but not enought for a sweatshirt. So save yourself the room in your suitcase. :)

Thanks for the quick replies! I didn't think we'd need one but I just wanted to check with the experts! :goodvibes

In the last 4 years we've been going to WDW in Sept., we've never needed a sweater or anything like it.

I was about to post and ask the same thing! It's hard sitting on my back deck and being a little chilly right now to picture not needing one.
I am going to bring a lightweight long sleeve for the restaurants as nothing is yuckier than having dinner in an air conditioned restaurant and shivering the whole time.
But other than that I am not packing anything warm.

Not at all! We went end of September/early October, and the most we needed was to swap out tank tops for t-shirts in the evenings sometimes. Definitely don't waste suitcase space on packing sweatshirts, save it for souvenirs.

Hey OP we are going 9/19 -9/28 and we are outside Chicago too! We are staying at POR. I plan to take light jackets for my girls, maybe a long sleeve tee for my DS. Mainly for inside restaurants. I don't know about Disney but in Florida when I used to visit my parents I was always freezing in the air conditioning.

I have worked at Disney in September. I was at Space Mtn and if I was outside during the day I was melting in sweat, but when I was doing the inside part of the ride, I needed one of the winter weight parkas that they use as Space Mtn and Mission Space.

I would take at least something long sleeved for inside attractions and meals. You feel great when that first blast of cool air hits you from the doorway, but once you've been in there for five minutes, your teeth start to chatter.

I just had to post since I live near Chicago....we NEED them here now (40 degrees tonight!)! I can't wait to get to Florida for warmth again! This is too cool for this time of year. Anyway, we went in October last year and still didn't need them. Maybe just for the airconditioned restaurants.....have fun!!! Hopefully it'll be warmer here before you leave.:goodvibes

Maybe not a sweatshirt, but a lightweight jacket or hoodie would come in handy if you get cold easily. The outdoors may be swealtering, but if you are going to eat at any table service restaurants, they keep it very cold. We ate at the Crystal Palace and my daughter could not enjoy dinner due to the temperature. Even my husband who enjoys cooler temperatures thought it was too cold in some of the restaurants--especially if your clothes are slightly wet from a wet ride or a rain shower. My husband jokes that it's Disney's way of cycling people through the restaurants quickly because no one wants to stay and have a long leisurely dinner with their teeth chattering.

So are we! Are you flying to Midway or O'Hare on the 28th? We're on the 6:40 on Southwest to Midway.

I wore a sweatshirt all day today. It's unseasonably cold tonight..I hope my flowers make it through the night! I didn't think about bringing something light for the restaurants...if there's room in the suitcase, maybe I'll pack something light.
