We are teachers & also one active military sooooooo do we go for 129.00 + 10.00 resort fee at Swan (I'm NOT able to haggle that fee at check in anymore) or 109.00 overflow military rate at CBR? I really need your views because both are so wonderful. If we choose Swan how do I justify to the others the difference in price. With two rooms the Swan would be 420.00 more for the 7 nights. The Swan high point for me is newly renovated room and of course transportation, but CBR looks georgous and is also recently redone isn't it? I wish I could afford BC but maybe next vacation. Please tell me your thoughts and thanks so much.

We stayed at the Swan last year and we all liked CBR which we stayed at the prior year much better! The Swan just did not feel Disney enough to us and we had mold in our bathroom. Management could not move us since the resort was full although they tried to clean the mold. The Swan was also full of business people. The grotto pool and ability to walk to Epcot were nice but we'd pick CBR over the Swan any day.:bounce:

We just returned from the Swan and it was wonderful!! THe beds were great and our room was really nice. I love the fact you can walk to Epcot at night (which stays open later) for dinner and the show. It is so convenient but not so overwhelmingly Disney. We find it MUCH easier to park-hop and really enjoy the parks when you are so close to the hotel. THAT is how I would justify it:)

I stayed at the CBR and liked it. Last summer we stayed at the Dolphin and loved it. I just remember how I hated the CROWDED bus ride back to CBR from any of the resorts. It was SO easy getting to the parks from Dolphin/Swan. As stated you can walk to Epcot and MGM or take the Friendship boats. The bus to AK and MK is great. The location just can't be beat. A short walk to the Boardwalk and all the activities there. We got the teacher's rate of $129 and joined SPG. I asked if an upgrade was possible and we got a room where we could see Epcot, MGM, and the Boardwalk from our window.
Yes, there were BIG conventions going on while we were there, but they had meetings all day and most nights, so the pool was nice and empty and gorgeous.

Last year we were at the Dolphin and really had an unpleasant experience. We will not return. (Full details in the archives somewhere)

We've been to CBR twice and enjoyed it. We rent a car and that really helped to offset any transit problems (not significant, just longer).

From the Swan Dolphin you can walk, but the teacher rate rooms seem to often be the least desirable in their class, we also found the pool to not be open long enough.

If you decide to stay at the Swan join Starwoods and earn the frequent stay points.

gschmerl: do you happen to remember your room number, did it have a balcony? Thanks!

Sorry I don't remember our room number. It was in the East Wing on the 11th floor. It did not have a balcony. I had e-mailed asking for an Epcot view room in the East wing on a high floor.
