We have a garden grove reservation and will be probably be walking around the boardwalk after most likely for a drink or 2 depending on mood on day of drive. I just saw a $15.98 parking charge at the swan so can I just park at the boardwalk and walk over to the swan. What is the boardwalk policy for guests driving who stay on other property and want to go on the boardwalk or park in their lots?

We went to the Boardwalk several times while staying at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek in February. We just told the person at the Boardwalk parking lot entrance that we weren't staying there but wanted to get an ice cream or eat at ESPN or whatever, and he just waved us through and said have a good time.

Unless there is a special event going on, like FWF or if it's a popular holiday like NYE, all you need to do is tell the gate guard that you are going to visit the boardwalk.

They will direct you to where you can park. If they will not allow you to park because of a special event, you will then be directed to the EPCOT parking lot and told to reach the boardwalk through the IG (which presumes you have a ticket that will allow you to do that).

Parking at the BW is supposed to be for guests of the BW. If you are dining there, shopping there, staying there. But not to visit other resorts or the theme parks.

A friend of mine recently stayed at the swan-dolphin......He did not want to pay the parking fee, so, he parked across the street from the swan lot entrance at the disney mini golf place ( fantasia gardens? ) There is a walking path from the swan right to the mini golf place and although it looks like it may be 2x the walk from the hotel parking lot, it saved him $15 a day....He said he wasn't the only one to do it as every time he went to get his car he saw a few other 'regular" ones there...Thinking of doing this on my upcoming trip....

When you stay at a disney resort, there is a piece of paper with your family name & arrival & departue time on it you are to put this on your dash....Can;t see everyone doing this so if you want to park at the boardwalk I'd say go ahead!

Nice of you to give permission. It's very frustrating when I'm staying at Boardwalk and have to go round and round in the parking lot to find a space because people are parked there who don't belong.

I'm surprised they don't tow cars parked at the mini-golf overnight. They are losing revenue at the Swan/Dolphin.

Know what you mean. People seem to gave no concern of how their behavior hurts others. I suspect they would be unhappy if they couldn't park at their home resort but it's ok to take up parking at other resorts. North American society shows so little consideration for others.

I agree 100%. Drives me nuts. It wouldn't be so bad if non-resort guests took further removed spots, allowing those that are paying to stay at BW, those closer spots. But no....those staying at BW leave for the day, in their cars, and non-resort guests park in those close up spots. Then, when we return to the resort, we have to find distant spots. Then, the parking lot clears about 30 mins after Epcot closes and IllumiNations ends.

If you are staying onsite, why not just park at DHS and take the boat to the S/D, then walk over to BW after dinner, and then either boat or walk back to DHS??
Otherwise, if you want to park at BW, I would suggest parking in the lot that is behind the Hess Station.
