We have always stayed at the Swan but I have found a better rate at the Waldorf. Could anyone share with me a comparison? THis will be the first time we bring our DD and at the time she'll be 1 1/2. Thank you!

I have not stayed at Waldorf, but have stayed at Swan several times. Transportation and easy park access is going to be far better at the Swan. But I suspect the hotel itself is nicer at the Waldorf.

I visited the Waldorf for its afternoon tea last year (don't bother). The outside of the building is very institutional looking. The inside was pretty. The pool was just a basic pool, nothing themed about it. I didn't see the rooms, but the online photos are lovely. I considered a stay there, but the lack of Disney feeling put me off. If we were traveling somewhere else and landed in this hotel, I'd be thrilled, but at Disney I want to feel Disney. To me that's worth paying more to stay onsite.

Where your daughter is so young, as long as you wouldn't miss the Disney feeling, you may want to try it. I wouldn't want to do it without a car, though. It's not that far from DTD but I'd dislike relying on shuttles, and I wouldn't consider walking.

swan! Best location with walk or boat to Epcot & DHS, on Disney transportation, and has Extra Magic Hours.

With Waldorf you'll be further from parks, reliant on their shuttles, and have to wait at off site bus stops which aren't very nice and Rutherford from entrance. And for MK you'd have to get TTC drop off, then take monorail or boat to MK. Unless your renting a car.

When you are traveling with a child that age you want the resort with the easiest transportation. Having walking or boat access to two parks is a big deal. The Waldorf would have more luxury but Swan/ Dolphin location and was of getting to the parks makes a difference. The S/D also has a great assortment of restaurants and it is close to all that the Boardwalk has as well. I would still drive to Ak and maybe even MK because schlepping all that stuff like a stroller and bags, is not fun. The stroller has to be folded up before getting on the bus.

I don't think you can walk from Waldorf to DTD anyway. I don't think Chelonia Parkway or Buena Vista has sidewalks in some sections! And it is pretty far.

Edit: yeah, I just checked and it is like 3 miles, lol!

LOL, I couldn't remember distances. I thought it was pretty far and I couldn't picture sidewalks.
