Swan or Dolphin

Been to both for a conference. They are about the same and so close to each other that you can use each other facilities.

Both are a short walk to Boardwalk and Epcot.

I like both resorts for different reasons.

The Swan has more understated elegance. It seems quieter and the bathroom layout is different than those at the Dolphin.

The Dolphin seems more festive and busy, more my speed.

It's simply a matter of opinion. Some prefer the Swan because it is the smaller of the two and is slightly easier to navigate. Others prefer the Dolphin for the convenience of having Tubbi's and the Dolphin Fountain right downstairs as opposed to walking across the courtyard to get to.

Either is a great choice, IMHO.

the Swan being a bit more reserved and the Dolphin more "where the action is". Both are GREAT resorts and are fast becoming the best secret as far as WDW resorts are concerned. I know some are concerned that the service is not as good as true Disney resorts and that they are missing the "magic". We have found both not to be true! The staff was far superior to any we had ever come in contact with at a true Disney resort and there was just as much "magic" there between the charater breakfasts, decorations, etc.

You can't go wrong with either one!

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't think you would be disappointed with either. I haven't stayed at the Dolphin, but have stayed at the Swan. When I was deciding between the two, I picked the Swan because it had queen beds (the Dolphin had double...this may no longer be the case with the rooms in both resorts being renovated) and was quite a bit smaller. We did use some of the Dolphin's facilities (laundry, Tubbie's, etc). We will likely stay at the Swan again, although not before other WDW resorts that are on our list to try first.

We have stayed at both, you can't go wrong with either and can enjoy the services of both ie- restaurants, pools health clubs etc. I like the extra sink that you get at the Swan.

You really can't go wrong with either. The lobby at the Dolphin is quite impressive, while the Swan's is just your basic hotel lobby. The Dolphin has more family friendly amenities, like Tubbi's, Dolphin Fountain, the arcade, closer to the grotto pool. BUT I swear it took me less time to get too Tubbi's and the pool from our room at the Swan than when we stayed on the East Wing at the Dolphin. The Swan is much smaller and it may also take less time to get to the bus stop and boat dock. I guess the ideal room would be one at the Dolphin on the West or Central Wing.

We like the Swan because of the extra sink/mirror located outside of the bathroom. Both resorts are great & the service was wonderful.

SWAN:

More reserved, quiet, farther from main pools. Smaller in general. Closer to boardwalk /mgm. Queen beds. Closer self parking.

DOLPHIN:

Close to main pools, Action packed = people all over, coming & going, lots of convention types, more resturants, more shops, Self Laundry. Just overall Bigger. Double beds. Great lobby.

Between the 2 we prefer the = DOLPHIN! Its just fun.

We stayed at Swan in '02 for nine days. It was great! We used the Dolphin for several things including Tubbi's. We're planning to use the teacher discount at Dolphin on our '06 trip. You can't beat the location either!
