Which would you choose for a weekend trip during F&W. We've never stayed at either the Swan or Dolphin (only Disney-owned hotels).

Just a word of warning: If you're used to the Disney magic, you will find none of it at the S/D. They are both very nice hotels, but understand that they have zero Disney feel. When I stayed at the Swan a few years ago, I felt like I was in any American city, anywhere, in a not-too-bad hotel. The first morning I was there, the first thing I did was call Disney reservations and find a WDW hotel. Fortunately, I was able to move after only 2 nights and the Swan didn't charge me for the nights I wasn't there.

If you don't care about that Disney feel (if you like it, you don't need a further explanation--I'm not just referring to having Disney decorations everywhere, I'm also referring to the total-immersion themes that all the Disney resorts are great at) and are looking for a place to stay near Epcot for F&W, then the S/D are fine. If, however, you like/need/crave/enjoy/prefer the Disney magic, it is absent at the S/D.
