What is the difference between the Swan and the Dolphin? :confused3 Which, if you have stayed there did you like better??

The Swan is smaller and has 2 queen beds or 1 king.
The Dolphin has 2 doubles or a king.
We prefer the Dolphin-really can't point to a specific reason though because both are very nice resorts.

Have stayed at both, I prefer the Swan but really there are few differences.

The Swan has queen beds, Dolphin has doubles. Dolphin has the 24hr cafe, and I generally prefer the dining options there but really the walkway between the two make this almost a non issue. The Swan is much smaller in capacity and seems a bit more quiet and not as bustling.

My recent stay was at Dolphin in January and it is much in need of some maintenance on systems such as HVAC and plumbing. We were with friends and had a block of 5 rooms and basically they all had one fairly large issue or another. It has been a little over 2 years since our last stay at The Swan so not sure of any issues there but they are basically the same hotel.

I would make sure your heat/air works properly when you arrive and immediately ask for another room if it does not seem to be operating properly. These hotels are in an excellent locations with wonderful dining for a fraction of the Disney deluxe prices and we usually opt for them during peak or holiday times when there is no discount and we still want EMH.

as others have mentioned, if looking for 2 beds in the room, the dolphin has doubles while swan has queens. for me, swan has always been about $10 more per night. If you prefer walking as opposed to the friendship boats, dolphin is a shorter walk since you can cut through the hotel and exit out a side door near YC. we usually stay at dolphin if we want a king room and swan if we need two beds, but we like both hotels about equally.

I just want to echo pretty much what everyone has said. There really isnt much diference. We prefer the swan becuase of the queen size beds and the rooms are a little bigger. Just an FYI I think there is a 20 % discount at some of the restaurants for AAA members.

They are VERY similar. The beds vary, and the Dolphin hotel itself is bigger so it's a bit more crowded, but it also has more dining options onsite. We ate at most of the signatures, though, so we were in both S and D for meals. We spent last spring break in an alcove suite at the Dolphin and had perfectly lovely stay.
