Swan/MGM walkway

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to walk from the Swan to the MGM. We want to make EMH tomorrow. Thanks!

It is only a 10 to 15min walk. Very nice walk in the morning.

We are going to MGM Early Entry next week from the Dolphin. I know EE opens at 8, but what is the best time to arrive?

Sorry, cannot help you out with this one as we use the plan of avoiding the park that is offering EE. I would suggest leaving the Dolphin about 7:30am and talk a slow stroll over to MGM.

Leave the Swan so that you arrive at MGM entrance no later than 7:30. They will probably be letting folks in as far as the rope that stops you at the head of Sunset (assuming you are going to RnR or ToT 1st).

Some people would consider a 7:30 arrival too late but it works for us. Certainly no later.

It's not a bad walk but be careful!!! We made a mistake and thought the walkway was on the Swan side of the canal. It's not......it's on the Boardwalk side. We ended up at the back side of the park where the gas tanks and delivery vehicles are. We had to backtrack to the very busy road that skirts the park. Then walk along the side of the road. I was more than a little intimidated and was only sure we were headed in the right direction because we could see the Tower of Terror. Just then, a Disney Security van pulled up and he yelled "Get IN!" He was very nice and said that 'this happens all the time' but that Disney patrols the areas because it's not safe to walk there. He drove us right to the entrance of MGM! You can bet that my DD (9) reminded me for the rest of the day that she had wanted to take the boat over !!!!

When you leave the Swan - walk over the bridge just to the right of the Swan exit doors (use the exit doors that come out facing the Dolphin) - the bridge looks looks a pirate boat on it. Once over the bridge take a sharp right and you will see a sign that says MGM walkway - it is behind Atlantic Night Club and the Boardwalk resort. As you walk, the Boardwalk is on your left and the water way is on your right. That's how you know you are on the right path! It is a nice walk in the morning while it's still cool - takes about 10-15 minutes depending on how fast you walk.
